    Larry Bird on 1070 today

Just a few quotes/highlights from Bird himself.

"We wanna keep him, and we're going to do everything we can to do so." - Bird on Lance Stephenson

Larry Bird “I would like to make one more move. We’re in some talks with some teams.”

"We're gonna make a major offer to him. If he wants to go to the market, we'll match." - Bird on Paul George

"We're right at the (Luxury) Tax, so if we do anything, it'd have to be through trade." - Bird

Just thought I'd share for those who couldnt listen

Looks like PG is a lifer as a Pacer! Lance is a priority to keep in Indiana, and Granger could be on his way out unless he takes quite a large pay cut next year.

        Trade???? Danny....Green...someone else?
I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Ephisians 4: 32 And be kind towards one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as Elohim also forgave you in Messiah.

Larry always loves to talk about making another move I wouldn't read too much into that.

Not a lifer, but around for 4 or 5 more years. If we keep the team playing at a high level and can get him a ring he might be a lifer.

I would bet the move is to dump Green.

Wonder if the pacers are trying to get a team to pay at least half his salary and the pacers pay the other half

So I guess V is over his whining about the FO not talking about potential moves, and trying to say their silence means they aren't looking.

                    Example:

In a thread where Irsay sent out a tweet saying they were working on a deal. So it's good PR for the Colts to publicize their efforts, but when Larry says something pretty much similiar "don't listen."

I think it will be tough for the team to make a trade.

I mean, the starters would require such a price that no team would find trading for them would be beneficial. To dump Green or Ian we would have to take back salary or do something to entice another team to take either one of them on. I could see us packaging Green or Ian with a first rounder and hoping someone bites. This would save us money next year to sign Paul and Lance and allow us a little more freedom by getting rid of a bad contract. Aside from a move like this though I do not see making a move with our roster being practical.

I was really surprised with Larry. Not with his candidness, he's always had that. But throughout the interview he just seemed more upbeat and happy compared to year's past. Hopefully that means his back is finally healthy and that he's feeling good.

I think that Grady and Big Joe is the best sports talk in Indy. Grady is the main reason I really like the show.

Did anyone else hear when Phil Jackson called in to their show a couple months ago to talk about his book? It was right before the Heat series. Regardless of what you think about Jackson, it's pretty cool that they got such a big national name who has no affiliation with Indy.

Returning to a team that was a game away from the NBA Finals probably helps his mood too.
