I just see this as a foregone conclusion, and I'm not displeased. At worst, talent level is equal or around the same range (bad shooting, energetic play at rim, the occasional "WTF how is he doing this?" stretch followed by the more common "WTF why is he doing this?" stretch). At best, Pendy is more athletic, which gives him a better chance to at least throw himself around enough to annoy the opposition. Although Tyler did have that one down pat...

Mixed feelings here. I will be glad if Tyler goes to a good situation and helps his career the most. I truly wish him the best. He's a good player that I enjoy watching.

Heh, I guess that I'll still follow some of his games

Maybe David Harrison, Jamaal Tinsley? Doubtful Tyler fits in with those players.

        Time for a new sig.

A big red flag about Hansbrough: He regressed over the last two years while the team itself got substantially better.

I'm glad we're looking elsewhere at the backup PF position. It's the right decision to let him go. As Bird stated, we need guys who fit and Tyler didn't fit.

I wouldn't have been angry if he came back too.

I wish him well. He's a good guy and a hard worker.

                  I didn't mind the pick.

I gradually grew unimpressed. He earned every bit of it.

I'm a Tyler fan but that was compared to Troy Murphy. While I would like to see Tyler succeed, we are looking to move up the food chain another notch. I do think that if Pendy is the replacement, we are treading water or maybe sinking slightly.

Yeah. I was just hearing about it on 1070. They were saying he wants to go somewhere he can start and play more minutes. Hope he gets his wish.

The popular phrase is, "it only takes one *******." Apparently he thinks there is some ******* out there willing to give him a better deal than the $4.1 million he could have made this season. It may happen, but I'd be shocked, and it's going to take a real *******.

                          Re: Hansbrough's QO rescinded

I defended him in the early years. I saw ways in which I felt he could reasonably improve offensively that would make him a good player for us. While he did slightly improve his passing (from not-at-all to sometimes-a-little-bit), his jump shot not only failed to improve, but it got worse, and that slammed the door shut on him having any face up threat in his game. He was reduced to just getting fouled, and while I still believe he's very good at drawing contact, the refs decided to only call a fraction of them (less than they used to) so its impact was reduced. He also stopped playing with super-high energy, in my eyes.

Bad help defender, and not a shot blocker, but I thought his on ball D was a little underrated.

I'm ready to see him go.

Yep. And it's a shame. Tyler was a good player for us but people couldn't let go that we passed on players that turned out to be better in order to pick him.

I think it's as simple as he didn't try to improve his game the past few years and instead of rising to the occasion of being #1 off the bench, he regressed dramatically and it really put the team in a bind come Playoff Time.

I got nothing personal against the guy, just think we can do a little better with what little money we have left to spend.
