... or unless we can't be sure that he will and someone is offering us "expected value" or better.

1st pick in this draft is an insult to LaMarcus Aldridge.

Im sure we'll hear plenty of rumors about Danny, but I highly doubt he'll be going anywhere

I would agree in a sense, but Aldridge is almost 28 and the rest of their core is 24 ish. It would be a great time to trade him while his value is still high, and get a player who fits the age group. It would also help them tank next year

They aren't going to win anything until they get a much better bench, and a C.

In a vacuum, maybe, but he's owed a ton of money the next few years and probably can't be the best player on a contending team. He'd be great as the second or third option on the Cavs in a couple of years when they're ready to contend, but Portland is spinning their wheels with Aldridge as their top guy. They need to complete their rebuild and put more young pieces around Lillard.

I know none of us knows the answer to this but I just wonder how much of the "League sources say Danny Granger is available for trade" is actually real sources or just one internet insider to another making up dream trades and they throw in Grangers name because he has to be on the trading block per them.

As someone said above we've been hearing this for 3 or 4 years now and all we ever get from the Pacers is another season of Danny and their statements that he was never on the block.

BTW, I don't want this to be a debate about if he should or should not be traded or even if he is or isn't available so much as this is about how the internet and twitter in particular is driving stories and how much of or is any of it even true?

I bet its Lance or Paul George feeding the story to an unbeknownst reporter just to troll Danny :P
Peck is basically omniscient when it comes to understanding how the minds of Herb Simon and Kevin Pritchard work. I was a fool to ever question him and now feel deep shame for not understanding that this team believes in continuity above talent.

Probably Chris Broussard coming up with trades and NBA GMs then think they're not bad so they try them

Really a 4 year difference is reason enough to trade your best player for a first rounder with potential but an unproven talent none of which would solve the team problems at center.

The way Aldridge plays, he should be good for many more years.
I think they should get a center somewhere and play. Wouldn't it be time for the Suns to get rid of Gortat before his deal expires? They could use the Blazers' lottery pick.

They are bad though. Very, very bad.

Anyway, why do they need Broussard to come up with fake trades? Don't they hire interns for that? Supposedly RealGM has a version of their tradechecker that they sell to teams specifically for this purpose (i.e. come up with all possible salary matches for a given package).

Even Danny acknowledged his time possibly being over in Indy, so there may be a fire with that smoke.

IF this draft had a #1 tier type player to draft with the 1st pick, but it doesn't. It has 6 #3 tier players leading this draft. Desperation shouldn't be part of Portlands building process unless they need the cap for something of quality.
