Re: Off Season News, Rumors, and Trades, etc. 2013

The only remaining Power Forward on the market that interests me is Ivan Johnson. He could definitely sign somewhere for like 2/$6 or even less. He is powerful, intense, and always brings great energy off the bench.

Milwaukee is a mess, kind of feel bad for their fans. There just doesn't seem to be any logic in their moves. Trade for Reddick and let him go. Sign OJ Mayo and Jennings and Ellis are still available. They aren't even going to have much cap space next year with all of their signings. They have really found their sweetspot of 30-37 wins.

The Bucks are doing what they're doing because they can't survive tanking. Their building sucks and there is no local support for a new one, their owner is almost 80 and just retired from the Senate. They're trying to bide their time hoping they can get a new arena, and more importantly a binding lease on it, until they tear it down like they obviously need to. As it stands right now they wouldn't survive a full rebuild in Milwaukee.

That, or they're just completely incompetent.

If they were able to get Zaza for 1.75 mil a year then they should be arrested

Yeah, but he did attempt 516 3 pointers during that season (6.3 three point attempts per game) and he also played in a team that featured defensive juggernatus like Stephen Curry, Monta Ellis and David Lee.

Edit: Dorrell is a good 3 & D player and the deal that he got is very fair, though.

Lol 2010-2011 GSW wasn't exactly known for defensive prowess. Took a crap ton of them too, what did he do last year again?

More of the same. He shot 37.4% from 3 and made 135 three-pointers. In 2010-2011, he shot 37.6% from 3 and made 196 three-pointers. He just shot a lot more in 2010-2011 since he was a starter.

Honestly, Dorrell is a pretty serviceable player.

Agree, but all things being equal I like Copeland better because we got/took him from the Knicks!

I updated the Pacers roster manually on 2K and I scored 6 threes in that game against my friend using an updated Warriors team. One of those 3s was an And1. ha

Watson is super slow on the game for a PG but can knock down the 3.

Slone is super quick and can drive good.
                  Why you Grimpin?

I prefer Copeland for two reasons.

                    1) Wright is a wing. He is a tall and lanky but he is definitely a wing. We needed a PF so Copeland fits that bill better.

                    2) Wright attempted 599 shots last season. 361 of them were 3s. In other words, 60% of his shot attempts came from the 3 point land. To make matters worse, 496 of those 599 shots were jump shots. That's absurdly high (82.8%, to be precise). In other words, Wright is strictly a jump shooter. Even during his 2010-2011 season in which he averaged 16.4 PPG he did so by shooting jumpers (868 of his 1146 shots were jump shots, that's 75.7% of his shots). Just think about it. Hibbert attempted 859 shots in the 12-13 RS while Wright attempted 868 jump shots in the 10-11 RS.

Wright is a good player to have (and on a good deal now) but I want some offensive versatility.

The Hawks have approximately $10 million in cap space to sign Monta Ellis and he is believed to be their top target.

The hawks may actually cut Jeff Teague loose and sign monta Ellis.

                      No, seriously.

Thats something I would make up and post on Twitter as a parody insider.

Atlanta lets one chucker walk, only to bring in another one?

Smith is a great defender, at least.
