Re: Off Season News, Rumors, and Trades, etc. 2013

On Landry. As has been stated in this thread, there is no definitive proof the Pacers have had discussions with him. Here's the deal.

There is not another player in the league that would fit better as a backup PF AND that is available AND that the team has expressed interest in AND that the player has expressed interest in AND that an article by a Pacer insider happened to come out earlier this week making it clear how good of a fit Landry would be in Indiana. Brunner goes so far to imply it would bring a championship.

What are the odds we haven't reached out to him? I think those odds are somewhere close to zero.

Wait...what? Why does stocking up on an extra SG mean that we trade granger?

Because Belinelli wouldn't play, I wouldn't think he would be interested in coming here and sitting on the bench, not sure why he would want to do that

Edit- Idk why, but completely forgot about the idea of Granger coming off the bench, if Granger comes off the bench then Belinelli will play, so i suppose it does make sense

Don't agree. Landry would put us pretty close to the LT. Bird knows he can't go there.

Except he would have brought unstoppable offense to our second unit . . . about 30 percent of the time.

Nate took the Bulls to the second round almost by himself but yeah we don't need a player like that....

If we had zero offense like that Bulls team, I would agree with you.

Btw, Bulls are offering Nate the minimum to return. Guess they don't value the guy either.

I don't think they have money.

Peck is basically omniscient when it comes to understanding how the minds of Herb Simon and Kevin Pritchard work. I was a fool to ever question him and now feel deep shame for not understanding that this team believes in continuity above talent.

That's actually not a half bad deal, imo.

If there literally ever was a "box of chocolates" player, Nate is it.

You can't deny that the guy at times can be a human dynamo, I remember him one time going for almost 40 against us. Of course Satan was our coach so that may or may not mean anything.

However he can shoot you out of a game just as fast as he can shoot you into one. He's a very selfish player and from what I've read online he is a locker room issue as well. There is a reason why a player who can score at will is about to be on his 6th team.

The Bulls just offered him a league min. contract, which is basically an insult so he won't be there next year either.

He's just a very hard player to manage because he is good enough to start and be a star on a bad team but his skill set just doesn't work very well in a team oriented offense.

But again, I'm not going to disagree that he has talent because he does.

Even with all this bad things you are talking about Nate is a better player than anything the Pacers have off the bench including Craperland(if signed).
