About that Green to Nets for Reggie Evans.....it makes ZERO sense....I'm calling total BS on that.

It's been said that the Nets are way over the LT.......and that every $$$ costs them way more than it should. Green earns more than Reggie Evans....so the cost to add Gerald would be way more than it should be.

Reggie fits exactly what the Nets need in a frontcourt Player....a guy that literally does all the dirty work that will allow Brook and KG to just focus on the offensive end instead of having to grab rebounds.

It's not going to be straight up. If it were to happen, it would be something like Evans to Indiana and Green to Boston.

Right now no trade checker will work on the official Celtics-Nets trade because the Nets are planning to sign and trade Bogans to the Celts for the remaining money to make the deal financially work.

Boston probably doesn't like the idea of Bogans getting 5 mil+ a year and wanted to incorporate a third team to involve an extra player so Bogans contract could be cut in half. This Gerald Green trade makes sense financially. Whether or not Boston would even want Green is another issue.

Yahoo! Sports and USA Today Sports reported that Allen has agreed to terms on a four-year, $20 million deal.

I like Reggie Evans. Advocated for him a few years back. He satisfies my "a pain in the arse to play against, so he must be effective" benchmark. He can't be in at the end of a game in crunch time because he'll make a bonehead play and IIRC he is horrific from the FT line. You don't ever ever need him to be in at the end of a game in Indiana.

Reggie Evans is one of the very few guys in the league that tries to go toe to toe with DWest in a physical battle. Dude's not afraid of anyone.

Yeah, I don't think he'll be easy to get since he's signed to a very cheap contract for his production, but I love his relentless rebounding. Among players who played at least 30 games and 15MPG last season, he was by far the best rebounder. He had a DRR of 38.1%(!) and ORR of 15.4% -- 26.7% TRR. Next best was Asik at 22%. He's easily worth 3x what his current contract is paying him, IMO.

So I assume Evans would be our backup PF and Copeland backup SF? Then Ian, Lance, and Watson. Pretty sweet. Evans is way better around the basket with put backs and stuff than Tyler.

Tyler Hansbrough shot 57.1% at the rim during the 12-13 season.

Reggie Evans shot 54.3% at the rim during the 12-13 season.

So, Tyler was better at it last season.

Want to look further back? Ok. Reggie Evans only played 56 games for the Clippers last season and he only attempted 76 shots in the 11-12 season so let's not count it due to the small sample size. He seldomly played with Toronto in 2009 through 2011 as he only appeared in 58 games throughout those 2 seasons.

So, his last real season was back when he was with Philly in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.

Let's see what he did back then:

For a comparison, Tyler only shot once in this range. That happened during his rookie season when he shot 49.6% at the rim. He has shot above 56% from that area in every other season that he has played.

So, we can safely come to this conclusion. Reggie Evans is NOT a better finisher in the league than Tyler Hansbrough. Not that Tyler is great at it or anything. It's just that Reggie Evans is a really atrocious finisher. He is one of the worst in the league in this aspect. Lou Amundson is a way better finisher than him (Lou has never shot below 50% at the rim).

Man I wish I never would have opened this thread up tonight. Now all I'll do for the next few days is obsess over some way to trade Green for Evans. Hell Green for anyone really, but the thought of Evans as your backup 4 makes me happy. I can't see the Nets doing this though as they are extremely short in the big men department.

They just drafted Mason Plumlee, traded for Garnett, have Lopez and Blatche.

KG, Lopez, Blatche, Humphries, Plumlee. They'll get by. They're supposedly looking for a 3rd PG, but I do think they'd pick someone to replace Brooks before getting a 3rd PG. Who knows, maybe they'd try Green again.

Didn't Humpries go in the Boston deal?

This trade would be amazing. Evans is a pain in the ***, great rebounder, and good post defender because he's so damn strong you cannot bully him around. His demeanor and the way he plays is just like David West and would really make us a pain in the *** to play against. The more Solomon Hill, David West, Reggie Evan's type of players we bring in, the better.
