Nothing necessarily newsworthy. I think it's great that he knows Tins and AJ from summer workouts. That can only help.

Michael Curry shouldn't need a lot of time to familiarize himself with his new team. The 36-year-old veteran small forward signed with the Pacers Monday, where he joins his two most recent head coaches: Rick Carlisle (who he played for in Detroit from 2001-03) and assistant Kevin O'Neill (in Toronto last season).
Known for his defensive prowess and intangibles, Curry also serves as President of the National Basketball Players Association and is therefore involved in the appeals process for suspended Pacers players Jermaine O'Neal, Stephen Jackson and Ron Artest.
Curry checked in with Pacers.com for a live chat on Wednesday. See what he had to say about his first game and much much more.
Rebekah Watson, Indianapolis: First, great win last night. Since you have not really played this season, how do you feel physically, especially after last night's game? Do you think your conditioning will factor into your ability to contribute?
Michael Curry: I think without playing, I probably did more running than I would usually do, to compensate for not being in camp. I've been playing with pros and college players and I only expect my condition to improve as we move forward.
Brian,Monticello,IN: Michael, just wanted to say that you looked great last night against the hawks. Was it easy being out on the floor with a team you had never played with before??.
Michael Curry: It was easy on the court, because I know Coach Carslile's system. Also, Jamal Tinsley and Anthony Johnson run the team so well it was easy for me to follow the offense. On defense, I talk alot anyway, and we were all on the same page.
Tim McQueen:Indianapolis, IN : What exactly does President of the National Basketball Players Association do and have long have you been involed in it?
Michael Curry: This is my fourth and final year as President. I spent two years prior to that as Vice President. I work with the Executive Director making sure we protect all the players rights and we make sure to provide programs beneficial for the guys while they're in the league and when they retire.
Dennis Guillermo, Indianapolis IN: Do the 3 Pacers players have a legitimate chance for their suspesions to be reduced in you opinion?
Michael Curry: Our stance is that their suspensions should be reduced. We will fight as hard as possible to get those suspensions reduced. Unfortunately, we need to depend on the arbitrator or a court ruling to get that to happen.
Dean (Tucson, AZ): Nice first impression last night Michael. How is it like to play with Reggie Miller?
Michael Curry: It was great to play with Reggie. I'm a basketball fanatic and I always enjoy watching how great guys prepare for games. Reggie, Joe Dumars, John Stockton, Michael Jordan I've always watched those guys and it was good to see Reggie get ready for his game up close.
Tino (Trenton, NJ):: What was your reaction when you first saw the huge fight between the Pacers and Pistons? Will this team over come what happen when they play the Pistons on Christmas Day?
Michael Curry: My first reaction was I was stunned that the incident go to that point. It was a terrible incident that happend to two of the better run organizations in the NBA. It was a low point and hopefully the organizations and the league can move beyond that. On the court, we can win. We need to play harder and smarter, no matter if we have all our players or not. We just need to play harder and smarter and good things will happen.
John (indy): Hey Michael, Can you tell us a bit about Rick Carlisle? What was it like to play with him in Detroit and what do you expect here?
Michael Curry: I've enjoyed playing for Coach Carlisle. HIs demeanor and his dedication to the game are going to help him be a successful coach in this league for a long time. He always takes care of the task at hand, and doesn't let outside things bother him.
Greg (Indana): Michael, Was having Carlisle and Kevin O'Neill in place in Indiana important in your decision to sign here?
Michael Curry: It was important in the sense that I already knew their system. But the biggest thing that drove my decision was that when they called I was ready to play. Also this team has a chance to win it all and that is what I'm in the league for, to battle for a championship.
Krish Vatsan, Newcastle: Its weird to come into a depleted team and in an unprecedented situation like this, What do you think you can offer our wonderful pacers kids apart from your trademark defensive abilities?
Michael Curry: Coming into this situation was unique for everybody involved. Regardless what has happened, we have to get on the court and get better and find ways to win games. I'm going to be the same player I've always been. I'm not about individual goals, I'm about team goals and working together for the common team goal of winning games. I think that is welcome here and I look forward to bringing that to the Pacers.
Steve, Ind: Hey Michael, what are your first impressions of your teammates?
Michael Curry: There is a great group of guys here, a very talented team. I played against this guys for many years, and with my union dealings I'm friends with many of the guys. Anthony Johnson and Jamal Tinsley and I actually worked out a bit this offseason in Atlanta. So, I think this a good group and I look forward to winning games with them.
DA Karlsruhe, Germany: With 3 key members of the team missing. Can the pacers stay as one of the top 4 teams in the eastern conference?
Michael Curry: First I want to tell DA hello, I know who that is. Hi. Now, talentwise I think we have the team together to get guys back from injury and suspension and keep progressing and challenge for a championship.
Michael Curry: Thanks to the fans for taking the time to send in questions. Hopefully my answers satisfied your curiosity. I hope you will stick with the Pacers and support us as we work hard to compete for an NBA championship.
