Um, given the percentage of the world that is Muslim alone, I'd have to disagree with the 3/4 part. And they've shown plenty of beach volleyball on tv in the us in the past, not just including the Olympics.

I'll also note that a quick google search confirms that there are beach volleyball leagues and governing bodies.

I meant something major, that people would notice. And Muslims make up 1/4 of the world.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

Tunisia is playing with a ton of confidence. Argentina looks shocked.

Meseri is like a classic 80's NBA center. Someone will sign this guy to a contract after the Olympics. Legit 7'1" and skilled.

Tunisia whipping the **** out of Argentina. 28-14 after 1 quarter. They're playing the inside-outside game to perfection.

How the hell did this team lose to Nigeria? This is a formidable team, and very well coached.

Well, one could argue that actively searching for things to be offended about is a form of fascination/obsession.

I think the reason the objections don't surface much for the Olympics (though they DO in fact surface) is that the uniforms are somewhat optional - full body uniforms can be worn (and often are if it is cold, like in the London venue).

Tunisia still hanging in there. Tough bunch.

40-40 tie at the half. Teams shooting dead even.

All a matter of what wins this game, tunisia's youth and size or argentina's skill and experience.

Argentina really turned back the clock in the second half. Still, I give Tunisia a puncher's chance to beat Lithuania.

Tunisia's coach is like Stan Van Gundy on 10 Red Bulls.

Guys I was talking about indoor volleyball, I think is an exciting game to watch, I also like beach volleyball but I know that won't fly in the US.

There already is professional beach volleyball in the US.

I know, I think my point is that none of the big networks care to show the games, is ESPN showing them? how about indoor Volleyball?
