I don't buy NY not matching anyway. They still have their amnesty clause don't they? In 2 years' time, it won't be unthinkable to amnesty Amare's $23m expiring contract. That should give them plenty of room below the tax.
    they used it on Billups.

But no one has actually spent anything yet. It will be interesting to see how all this shakes out, and figuring out how much was truth and how much was BS.

Hey remember when everyone thought Danny Granger was overpaid? LOL. We got guys like Batum wanting 11-12 million per year, Dragic wants 10, Hibbert wants 13-14, EJ 13-14, Wallace gets 11.

Granger has been one of the best values in the league. He signed his deal averaging 25pts per game at 9-10 Million per year. Granger has average about 19 and 5 over the last 2 seasons. Based on his years in the league, if he was a FA this year we would probably garner more than he is currently making. He'd probably get 14-15 starting.

JMO, but maybe these guys are not as talented as people think. Especially when they come off their rookie contracts. Paying full price for a guy that has potential or maybe good some day, is a big waste of cap space. There are lots of guys just as good as Beasley or HIckson that make more sense for the money.

I think Bass and Nelson want longer term money. They think they have a better chance to get it this year than next, when they are a year older.

I'd give them next years 1st, which would be a 20 something pick, and Plumlee/Hans/Stanko/Stephenson plus cap for Varejao in a heartbeat. He's the X-factor, 4/5who is tuff, has mega energy, and plays great "D". Compare his contract with what Hibbert is asking. Granted he's not the scorer Hibbert is, but the 5 mil per year savings can go towards signing someone that is.

I've wanted Andy for a long time. I realize it's a dream, but one that I not quite ready to give up on yet.

No way in hell you get him for that package though. Where do they place all these 2nd and 3rd line players of ours on their 15-man roster? Not too mention the pick aswell (though that could be an easy asset in a trade, offcourse).

I would just laugh if some Team did this and the Knicks lose Lin.

If a Team is capable of doing this...and were interested in Lin...they should do it.

All the players I mentioned are NOT being traded. They can pick pick lets say Plumlee and Hans to go along with the pick and cap. I just gave a selection of possible players to choose from. I believe the pick, Plumlee, Hans, plus cap would be a nice offer. In essence, anyway you slice it they are only adding 2 players to their roster.

So I've seen about 5 minutes of him in the NBA so I have no clue if it'd be a good move, but DJ White didn't get a QO from Charlotte. Any interest on the cheap?

If it's for the minimum I would do it. Other guys are Joel Pryzbilla, Nazr Mohammed, Jermaine O'Neal, Fes the man himself, Reggie Evans, and Ian Mahinmi...

I would just say pick one out of a hat who would come here for the minimum.

Anybody think that Donnie would really want to bring JO back?

For those of you who wanted to draft Jrue Holiday over Hansbrough he apparently is now asking for a max extension to his contract

Sixers guard Jrue Holiday added to USA select team roster. Holiday also is seeking a max contract extension from Sixers, source tells Yahoo!
