I don't believe OJ will play immediately but should be ready by later this season or in 2013.

My point was if you give Mayo a 4yr deal, are resigning George and believe OJ and Stephenson can play moving Granger at some point (I said over the next year) would be the logical conclusion to me.

@TeamLou23: Philly, I appreciate you all. Unfortunately I will not be coming back, as an organization they decided to move in a different direction.

      Any interest in Williams?

interesting. what direction are they moving in? if they let him go and amnesty Brand, that's an awful lot of cap space.
There's no free agent left at that level.
Pau deal maybe? That's about the only thing that makes sense.

lots of interest @ $3M/yr, none @ $10M/yr. Dude is an undersized 2 trying to play the point, but he can score.

They should go after Courtney Lee, a better defender who doesn't have to have the ball in his hands. Especially considering they didn't tender Jodie Meeks.

And at some point in the next few months, they're going to have to trade one of their small forwards away for up-front help.

Pacers need a two guard, targeting O.J. Mayo, Courtney Lee

While the Pacers front office is grappling with the big question — literally — of whether to match the Trail Blazers max offer for center Roy Hibbert, they are dealing with their other needs as well.
Specifically, they need to step up at the two guard. More accurately, they need to bring in a shooting guard sixth man who keeps the pressure on Paul George to perform and can get them some points.
And they are looking at two players with very different skill sets in O.J. Mayo and Courtney Lee, reports Mike Wells at the Indy Star.
Mayo is the top choice for the Pacers. He’s been their top choice for a few years now. The Pacers have “great, great interest” in Mayo, one person told me….
The Pacers have to decide how much they want to pay the former lottery pick and does Mayo mind continuing to come off the bench.
Lee brings better defense, is a better three-point shooter, is an Indianapolis native and probably comes at a lower price.
Lou Williams is also now fully on the market, he costs more but can also put up more points than either of these two.
Smart money is still on a good offer for Mayo, who can come off the bench and create his own shot, the roles the Pacers need to fill. But look for some movement from the Pacers in the next five days on this front.
As for Hibbert, we may have to wait until July 14 for an answer.

Not just great, but great, great interest... I hope they don't bid against themselves for him.

Lou Williams? Seriously? A 6'1 sg? WTF He's shot right at 40% the past 2 years. He may score more, but he's far from efficient. Mayo would be ideal, but depends on the asking price. I hope the Pacers don't pay $8M/yr+ for a backup shooting guard. Courtney Lee would be great. His defense is better and he can hit the 3...that's all you can really want in a backup shooting guard, and his price should be much much lower.

I honestly don't like how we are stockpiling combo guards though. It's a bit unnerving. How about finding a future replacement for West, or at least a better backup PF than Hans. Or how about getting a backup SF for Granger. I like DJ for his defense, but he's no SF.
First time in a long time, I've been happy with the team that was constructed, and now they struggle. I blame the coach.
