Are we still hoping for EJ?

I still want EJ, he seems to be something that could help motivate the fan base to coming back 100%. They kind of showed up during the playoffs, but we had one of the worst Reg season attendances in the league. Has there been any definitive reason for us to not want this anymore??

I saw that NO was wanting to dump Okafor and their 10th pick... I thought that it wouldnt be a bad idea to look at getting EJ in a deal with Okafor and that pick.. Do you think that they would Give us EJ in a S/T, Trade Okafor, Vazquez, 10 for Granger, Collison, T hans, and 26? I know we have beaten up the EJ to indy thing, but still I want it to happen. As for his injury problems, perhaps him being home and a chance to be THE man would help.

    so, Granger, Collison, Hansbrough 26

    for

Eric gordon, Emeka Okafor, Vazquez, 10

that would put us at, assuming we resign Hibbert

    PG- G. Hill
    SG- EJ
    SF- Paul George
    PF- West
    C- Hibbert

    6- Okafor
    7- 10
    8- Vazquez
    9- Dahntay
    10- Anyone

That gives us that Face of the franchise that is an offensive upgrade to DG, who is on the down part of his career anyway. Also, it rids us of all his bonehead plays he always seems to make. I also thing it gives PG to move to SF which would be his more natural position...

For NO, its almost obvious EJ doesnt want to be there. Now they have the 1st pick, they will have their face of the franchise there in Unibrow, they now need an established vet to take some of the scoring load, but to also be a #2 guy to Anthony Davis. Collison already thrived in NO, so it may be good for him to go back there. They wil have a solid PG in him.

at 10, we could get a solid big in Zeller, or another scorer like waiters, a pass first PG like marshall, theres alot of options at 10.

PS, im still new to the board, so please be gentle with your comments... haha

No, we are NOT waiting for him. If the Pacers can sign him for something minimal AND he passes a physcial, then OK give him a shot.

But at this point, he looks like another Michael Redd in the making.

Welcome to PD. On your question, ask next year if Gordon becomes a free agent.
You know how hippos are made out to be sweet and silly, like big cows, but are actually extremely dangerous and can kill you with stunning brutality? The Pacers are the NBA's hippos....Matt Moore CBS Sports....

That's a little harsh. The guy is new, and even said as much in his post. Let's cut him a little slack.

To answer your question Volman--we are a divided mass on this subject. I think the general feeling is that we aren't really hoping for EJ due to a combination of his injury concerns, the cost of acquiring him, and the repeated mantra from our owner that we do not dabble with restricted free agents.

He is too injury prone for my taste

I don't see him as a difference maker.

Focus on point guard, point guard

I always find it funny when some one asks what we want. Does any one actually believe there us a consensus opinion around here?

I think that we should just continue to focus on getting a point guard, point guard, point guard, point guard, point guard, point guard . . .

What has Gordon ever done in the NBA? He is hurt all of the time. I would not want him for the prrice he will command.

As for the Gordon... YES we need a player with his skill set as long as the price is right. If we can't get a great PG then we should at least think about going after him. I think the trade you suggest here is one sided in our favor though.
