I have toyed with starting this thread for no good reason, then someone mentioned one of my favourite forgettable Pacers on another thread and that spurred me on.
Pacer players you either forgot about or didn't even know about. Players who contributed little or nothing and faded into basketball obscurity.
There are several that fit the bill for me:
Edtrick Bohannon 1997-1998 season. An undrafted rookie that year. The same rookie season as Croshere. I remember this kid only because the IndyStar had a lengthy article on his preseason. It hyped him as being a "find", talented, underappreciated, blah, blah. Well, Bird was coach and played the kid 5 times. I have no idea if he stayed on the team all season or not. I sure expected him to appear in more than 5 games after the beat writer hype.
Jose Slaughter 1982-1983 season. The Pacers were desperate for some kind of positive news those days. They had only second rounders that year and they were way down there second rounders. They picked this kid. Slaughter had decent college stats. The first thing this kid does is hold out for a bigger contract than he deserved. He lost that fight and signed anyhow. Scored 3 ppg in limited action, got cut in the offseason because he was clueless. As far as I know he never played professionally again on any level.
