I hope Scott Pollard is not reading this.

Sadly almost every time that the team has had a near capacity crowd or at the least good crowd they have either blown a game or just flat out didn't compete. Also while they have been winning home games a lot of fans are not going to flock to the fieldhouse to see the Bobcats/Hornets during weekdays.

I hope it picks up in the second half but the Pacers are going to have to do their part and not stink up the floor. Beating a good team at home would be nice.

Atlanta & Utah are the only good teams we have beaten at home and while we did beat Boston here this was prior to them haveing a mild resurgence.

We have a lot more home games in the second half so maybe people will come, but the team is going to have to get some wins over real teams in the fieldhouse I think to get people to actually come to see them.

Paul winning the dunk contest would help as well.

    Bobcats at #15?

Kind of serious, not sure if I trust this list.

Wells tweeted this from last night's game v. Bobcats.

If any one wants to see it without taking the large amount of time required to click the link...

      Pretty sad numbers for us...

Indianapolis needs a star they can get behind. For the Colts, obviously, that was Peyton. For the Pacers, it was Reggie Miller, from the mid-90's until his retirement.

The Pacers don't have that now. There are players that we like on the team, obviously. But we're hardcore fans.

Who can the general public point to on this team and get excited about?

The Pacers will need some success in the playoffs or at least need to create some lasting memories (8 points in 8.9 seconds, Memorial Day Miracle, Reggie's 3 over Jordan in '98) before people start showing up en masse.

          What's our seating capacity though?

Remember when we could have gotten 1-2 solid players and a possible Top 3 draft pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by trading away Paul George?

Beat good teams at home and win in the playoffs.

Re: Pacers second to last in attendance heading into all-star break

While I think its pretty pathetic that we have a good team yet bad attendance, we haven't really been hosting a lot of good teams that would bring out the crowds. And when we do get good teams it's on a weekday.

So far our home games have been against (a lot of bad teams in there):
              Detroit
              Cleveland
              Charlotte
              Atlanta (Wed.)
              Boston
              Orlando (Tue)
              New Jersey
              Orlando
              Utah
              Denver
              Miami (Tue)
              New Jersey
              Charlotte
              New Orleans

I'm assuming the 75.9% is the capacity percentage. Wow the Pistons have really dropped off.
"It's just unfortunate that we've been penalized so much this year and nothing has happened to the Pistons, the Palace or the city of Detroit," he said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it. They should be ashamed of themselves to let the security be as lax as it is around here."

How could some teams be over 100% capacity? They don't have SRO for basketball games do they?

The percentage (PCT) of seats filled stat (capacity) is right beside the average attendance number. If you go off that we move up to 28th ahead of the Nets so really its irrelevant.

Looks like some actually do. Take American Airlines Arena (Dallas) for example. According to it's wiki page, (I know, I know...) the total capacity is 19,200 up to 21,146 with standing room.

I just hope the numbers really pick up over the next couple of years.

Otherwise, who could blame Herb Simon if he just shrugged his shoulders, said, "maybe Indiana doesn't want a basketball team anymore," and sold the team to someone who wanted to move it elsewhere?

What does this really mean? People are not going to games but they are watching the Pacers on TV and that number has gone up a lot.
