I don't think he's better than Collison, he'd help in that he'd push Price out of the rotation permanently and let Hill slide over to his more natural position of the 2...but I'm not sure I'd give up a first round pick as I'm not sure he's the difference between winning a playoff series and not, and that's what it comes down to.

I like Augustin and preferred him to Collison when talk was getting a young PG and the candidates were Lawson, Collison, Maynor, and Augustin; but there isn't enough difference now between DC and DJ to get Augustin.
He's not worth a 1st unless it's bottom 26-30 pick which the Pacers don't have. Maybe some combination of 2nds, Stanko, Price, and cap.

I'd be a Bobcats fan (they seem like they are tough to watch..but can't be worse than an O'brien led team, right?), but I'd still be a Pacers fan. I love Frank and a lot of the guys on team.

I was one of Augustin's biggest backers before the '08 draft and I was upset when the Bobcats picked him before us.......and even more upset just a few minutes later. I think he has more talent than DC but I'd hate to mess up the good thing we have going now. I wouldn't hate the idea of getting him in a trade but I'm not sure I'd be all too thrilled unless it equated to wins.

I'm exactly in the same position. I watch a lot of Bobcats games mainly because of him, and Stephen Jackson in the past.

I believe he's better than Collison, but the difference between them might come down to just personal preference. Augustin is more of a "true" point guard. Both aren't great on defense.

I'd trade for him if we weren't playing so well. But I don't think Augustin is a backup, and I don't see the point of having two undersized point guards anyway.

Wow, I am a big DJ fan but I don't know if I can sign up for trading our #1 next year. Yes, we are much better and the pick isn't as good as we hoped but IMO the value of the 21st pick of next year is about the same as a 7-10 pick this year.

If another combo can be had then sure but I really want to keep that pick. Especially since it would also be vital in any kind of offer we could make for a real, legit star (Deron or Dwight level player)
