    via twitter

Theo Ratliff, union exec committee member, just left. Said meeting is still going on and looks like there will be a Saturday session...

Pattern of today's NBA labor talks: union, owners met in their groups separately. Then together. Then separately. Then together. Means ???

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
Meeting with league and union is passing the four-hour mark now.

One participant in labor meeting has told (texted) associates on the outside that there's "been a spirit of cooperation" in the room today.

    EDIT

    WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski
From official who's talked w/ people in room: More than one previously hardline owner, including Dan Gilbert, has come wanting to make deal.

Nevertheless, there's still no concrete information on whether the owners and players have made real progress. Yet, the vibe isn't bad.

Theo said "See you tomorrow." That's a good sign.

Wonder if the hotel has a chimney they can shoot white smoke out of if a deal is met this weekend....

Ratliff is on the NBPA executive committee and what he said was "See you tomorrow" which would imply we'll be back. Awesome.

Meetings are still going on though.

These are the two keys that a deal is very possible this weekend. Fisher is very careful with his words, so there's a lot to read between the lines.

yeah....the only way around a hard cap is to crate a luxury tax so harsh that the top 5 markets are basically subsidizing the other 20.

Won't keep the Lakers or Mavs from spending. It just gives the Cavs and Grizzlies a bigger piece of their profits.
