The kid looked great out there. His defense on Wall (when they switched) was pretty good considering that Wall was tearing us up in the 3rd.

I would like to see him take a couple minutes from Danny (he is averaging 37 does he really need more time off?)), 3 from Rush, 5 from Dun, 5 from Posey.

I would stomach Posey out there ten minuetes, same with Solo. Give 5 minutes to Josh (he would still be under 30). Josh is getting 3 minutes more a game than Posey.

I think Ford's minutes will start to go down as DC gets more comfortable with the team. I consider DC a rookie since he changed systems and teams at a young age.

Ford is playing well and this play the youth at all cost is unfounded. I would not mind if we resigned Ford as a backup, but I see him as a part-timer somewhere else. He basically is that here, only getting 8 minutes less than DC.

      Tyler:
He is an energy guy if he can't hit that mid range jumper. And if he is not getting to the line he wastes possessions. Defensively he is not there. He may resist on the block, but his helpside is a half second late. Getting back is a full second late. He corrals well on switches when facing a guard. So I think he will come around. But right now he should no be out there more than 15 minutes.

PG looked good but he was very much like Tyler, the energy guy who disrupts the floor on both offense and defense. When he's on (like last night, he was in the right place at the right time a lot), it makes him look fantastic. When he's not on, it makes him a step behind or ahead and people start to call him "lost".

If you remember he was having problems with certain defenses when he was playing earlier in the year. I would expect that to continue from time to time.

Paul looks to be a huge piece to this team and something special. Hopefully he gets consistent time along with Tyler.

Unlike selfish JOB, a different coach would do this.

          PG Collison (31 minutes)/Collison (17 minutes)
          SG Rush (24 minutes)/George (24 minutes)
          SF Granger (36 minutes)/Dunleavy (12 minutes)
          PF McRoberts (24 minutes)/Hansbrough (24 minutes)
          C Hibbert (31 minutes)/SJones (17 minutes)

Of course Jim wouldn't do this, but it's the obvious rotation to consistently play.

I love Collison, but that's a lot of minutes to put on our 2nd PG of the future.

I also feel Dunleavy is a little slighted here, but a least you have him in the rotation, so I'll look at the bright side

              next season:
New PF who brings more than Tyler or Josh. I would like to see Josh primarily as the b/u C rather than Solo. He brings more energy than Solo.

Foster, Solo, TJ definitely gone and Dun comes back at half his salary or less. No reason why BR/PG/DG can't split close to 96 minutes with some for MD or JP if we do not keep Mike..

The reality of us resigning Solo is nil. I think that is why he is playing harder, although sloppier at times.

If JOB is gone I willing to be that DJones will get the spot minutes that PG is getting now. PG will be young still, so veteran leadership will help solidify the rotation.

JP will get the spot minutes that Hans is getting. Hans and Josh will split the time that Solo and Posey gets. While our PF, if he is young, gets Josh minutes in or out of the starting lineup. If this PF is a vet then I really do not see a need to resign Josh for more cash.

I like Josh, but I think this is what we get. Which is not bad for off the bench. Having him starting might limit his chance of being resigned, ironically.

PG has one good game and everyone has a *****. Dun has a bad game and was the teams best player for the past 2 weeks and everyone wants to send him packing. Why am I not suprised. I understand everyone wants to give the top pick minutes but lets face it JOB is trying to win games for job security and when PG was in past games whenever it was he was terrible. Thats why he was not in the rotation. If JOB was the GM then I think PG would be playing more but when you are only the head coach you have to play the players that give you the best chance to win the game. That has been Mike, Rush and Granger. I think 99% of all coaches would do the same thing.

You're exactly right but how do you get players the game experience you need for them to develop. "You put the player in the game coach". So coaching talent requires doing both -playing veterans and giving your young talent the PT to develop.

If we needed to trade Rush or Granger to make a superdeal then we would be left with a practice PG to step in.

                      you are wrong about Solo.
For the right price (cheap) he is becoming a very good backup.

Got lucky or was it tenacity and not giving up? The line between the two can be somewhat thin.

Nice move by Coach to mix things up; This was a great game to play George--For starters, Washington is a subpar defensive team, bottom 5 in opponents two point field goal %. And I'm sure Washington hadn't really gameplanned for George either since he's a rookie who seldom plays. So it was a great game for George to get some easy buckets at the rim to build up his confidence and to focus on passing lanes on defense, which is something I'm sure the coaches have emphasized to him because of his length. It's just one game though--I don't have any expectations that he will be able to do it consistently, especially once opponents get more acquainted with his game. But down the road I think he'll become a decent player.

So when we win it's the coaches fault, but when we lose it's the player's fault. It gets old.

Is this in response to my post? Yes I agree, and this is a good reminder--when we lose, most of the blame belongs with the players. That goes for any team in the NBA.

I definitely agree that most blame should go to players, and this goes both ways.

Whether we win or lose, the same amount of blame or praise should be awarded the same way. I hate to hear JOB bashers blame losses on Jim and wins on players. Just like I hate to see losses blamed on players and wins are on the coach.
