    Anthony Randolph available

    From the New York Post;
Meanwhile, the paper reports that the team has put Anthony Randolph(notes) up on the trading block.
We really need to make a move for this guy, I know they are looking for a pg, and tj would be a great offer. Some kind of combo using the following players.

Tj, Dahntay, Solo, Mbob, Posey and Price

    and

Randolph, Curry, Walker, Douglas, Turiaf, Azubuike

That trade goes in perfectly on the espn trade machine, but is kinda big and uneeded, but some kind of combo would best fit.

    Collison, Douglas, stephenson
    Rush, Dunleavy, Walker,
    Granger, George, Azubuike
    Randolph, T, Turiaf
    Hibbert, Foster, Curry

    isnt to bad on paper

This is not new, everybody knows they want to trade the guy.

thats a kinda huge trade to get one player who maybe we talked about back in september until the knicks didn't want him anymore and we all cooled off on after that

I wouldn't give up anything of value for him. I'd probably deal TJ Ford for him, but that's about as much as I'd give up for him.

Agreed. Except there's no real good way to match salaries without us taking on someone we really won't want.

We're giving up McRoberts and Price...thats a little too steep

I'd rather give up a lottery protected pick

              You guys need to read.

The original post wasn't a trade offer, he said "using a combo" of the players. Meaning using those names to create a trade.

                Except he then posted this:

                Collison, Douglas, stephenson
                Rush, Dunleavy, Walker,
                Granger, George, Azubuike
                Randolph, T, Turiaf
                Hibbert, Foster, Curry

So it was a trade offer. A bad one, but an offer none the less.

Same. Salaries wouldn't match, but I'm not keen on giving up much more than TJ for him. I'd even be hesitant to throw Solo at them. Maybe Lance

                    Re: Anthony Randolph available

I'd throw Solo and Lance at Donnie in a heartbeat.

This is Solo's best year ever and Lance almost certainly isn't going to work out. Lance has the tools of an old-school player: big body, tight handles, strong hands, solid passing, etc.. He looks very interesting but there is so much baggage that it is disgusting. He's been brought up as a prodigy and he's let that get to his head.

Meanwhile, last year Anthony Randolph averaged 11.6 points and 6.5 rebounds in about 22 minutes in only 33 games last year. His rebound percentage was 16% which is nothing to brag about but to draw comparisons Josh's total rebound percentage is 14%. He has the ability and creativity to be a solid all around scorer with plenty of defensive potential even though he's not where he needs to be as of today. He is only 21 years old, he is a lefty (something that I love in players considering that I am a lefty myself), he scores at a good rate for someone so young, and we don't even have to talk potential. He's already a solid 3rd-4th big for a .500 team. Then when he blossoms, we have a good power forward.

The problem is obviously his maturity and his effort but with motivators like Posey, Josh, and Roy I don't think that this is a huge problem. Look at Rush, who was deemed an unmotivated player after his incident.

Solo and Lance for Randolph is an absolute steal in my book. Anthony Randolph was doomed from the start in New York.

I probably wouldn't throw anything more than a 1st top 10 protected (lockout means we'll be stuck with a very mediocre player) and Tyler at him, but Solo and Lance is asbolutely highway robbery. Why exactly does no one like Anthony Randolph at all?
We need better than solid. No JJ Redicks, Andray Blatche, Mike Dunleavy type guys to have big roles on our team.

Thinks he is WAY better than he is. He is a good player with a lot of upside. But that's about it. He's good, but he thinks he's great, which he isn't

I'm multi-tasking, so maybe I didn't word it the best way possible. It is a trade offer, but not even one the guy who posted it took seriously. He even goes to say it's unnecessary and too big. That a smaller trade is obviously better.

So I guess what I meant was that what's the point in knocking a trade that the guy who posted even didn't take serious and clearly says so?

Trade Dahntay Jones and Solo for him. Pretty sure this sure trade would go through. Not really losing anyone of importance on the team, but get a guy with a ton of potenital at the biggest need position on the team.

Why would New York do that?
