I have no idea who Thomas Ambercrombie is, but he is beasting the crap out of Spain's guards right now. What an athlete this kid is.

He doesn't even start for new Zealand, and Spain's NBA-level wings can't stay with him. I don't get it. 6'6" SG with good handles and excellent finishing ability. Maybe he's normally a terrible shooter?

Bias towards a player on your favorite team... that's unheard of!

Doug Collins offensive strategy is, and has always been to allow 1 player to initiate all of the offense. It doesn't matter if that guy is the PG, or not. He runs his offense through a single player and leans on him harder than most any NBA coach I've seen.

My guess is Iggy will be asked to do these things because Turner is a rookie, and the rest of the team isn't very good. This could be a career year statistically for Iggy.

It's just a trend with some of you. Any chance you get, you have something bad to say about someone/something.

                Looks like the same kid.

19 points today in a 101-84 loss to Spain.

                  1)Its a baaaaaaad NBA team
2)You have to have go-to moves to be a go-to guy

I thought AI2 was going to be the next Pippen but his handle is still suspect, his outside shooting isn't all that impressive and his decision making is questionable. And even if he had been as good as Pip let's face it...Pippen was never an ideal go-to guy either. On a team contending for an NBA championship Iggy would be the fourth or perhaps the third leading scorer. The fact that he is THE MAN for Philly explains why the Sixers are lousy.

That being said he definitely a benefit for Team USA on the defensive end. Can't argue against that.

DG is a benchwarmer on this team.

Yep, I'm not disappointed he's not playing, but honestly his defensive awareness is really poor, imo.

I know it's been discussed, but Danny's basically became just a scorer at this point, I'm not real happy about it.

That's not how he came up.

Maybe he'll change back to form if he gets a team around him in the Pacers, but with the last couple of years and now what he looks like with team USA, I'm not sure.

It's just basic defensive intuition that growing up in Indiana if you played ball you developed. Drives me a little crazy, really.

He doesn't make players around him better on EITHER end if he's going to play like this.

Anyway, thats as much of a rant as I can muster on August 30th.

Just tuned in, still a close game with 4 minutes left.

Splitter looks pretty long and mobile, he's gonna be a good fit with Duncan.

And just as I said that he gets absolutely swatted by Durant.

Brazil has chance to tie with ten seconds left. They're down 68-66 after Billups misses a contested jumper.

And we foul their PG with 3.5 seconds left! 2 FTs.

                            He misses the first!

Crazy finish! They get the offensive rebound off their second intentionally missed FT, Barbosa winds up with a tough lay-up just outside the paint, and it rolls around the bucket and goes out.

                            USA wins! Stays undefeated.

But Brazil is pretty good, and we weren't great down the stretch. Gotta get it to KD more. Odom and Billups took most of our shots down the stretch.
