I saw this in one of the chat earlier today... sorry if it's been posted. Sounds like it was close
The thing that throws me off is that the Nuggets just don't have the contracts to match? Even if it included non rotational players it would require multiple players, and the Pacers don't have the roster space.
I'm really curious what the deal was and what changed to make it not work?

You got my hopes up with your talk of a potential future big fish big man signing. Is any of the following even a possibility for the Nuggets in future? Troy Murphy, Luis Scola, Antawn Jamison, Nick Collison, David Lee or Andris Biedrins
Travis Heath:
All of those names are interesting names, but it would be tough to make a deal for most of them. To get Troy Murphy, Antawn Jamison, or Andris Biedrins, Nene would almost certainly have to be moved out in the deal. Not sure Murphy or Jamison give the Nuggets the length and defense they are coveting. Biedrins fits that mold very nicely, but last I heard the Warriors don't have much interest in moving him.
The Nuggets thought they had Jeff Foster last week. Those talks could be revisited before the deadline. From what I'm told, Denver wasn't giving up any rotational players in the the deal they thought they had done for Foster.

Justin in DENVER:
LOTS of rumors about Foster or Haywood to Denver.....will it happen and when? P.S. Did you ever find out who the BIG FISH was last week? Thanks Travis!
Travis Heath:
As I noted earlier, Foster to Denver nearly happened. Think of it this way: the Nuggets were in the red-zone and thought they were going to punch it into the end-zone. It was that close. I'm told talks could be revisited closer to the deadline.
Haywood seems good in theory, but the logistics of getting a deal done for him are complicated considering the Wizards' cap situation and everything else going on in D.C. Not impossible, but I also wouldn't say highly likely at this juncture.
The Nuggets have also inquired about Chris Bosh, but Toronto's asking price is too high. Again, I don't think a deal involving Bosh to Denver is likely unless Toronto's asking price drops as the deadline gets closer and they don't get a better offer from another team.
