Uh oh.
I agree with Ford on how he should be used. This should become interesting.Last edited by theboyjwo; 12-22-2009, 01:08 PM. -
Re: Ford not on court when he expected (IndyStar)
Just horrible news, despite the likelihood of it being true.
Bench him now, before he finishes the job of destroying what little offensive continuity that is being brought to the table by Dunleavy.
Better yet, put him in street clothes and give Price all of his minutes.
Make O'B do the right thing here Larry, please, for the love of all that is holy!Comment

Ya I think the losing is starting to wear thin on all of them. Obie coming out and saying he didn't trust BRush to inbound the ball. Dunleavy visibly saying stuff about going for 2, on the court. Bird's head shaking. Obie being jittery and nervous. I mean it's not surprising that it's taking it's toll, but I think we are starting to see little things that are a result of losing.Comment

Slowly but surely it has to sink in that JOB is not the right coach and that TJ and Murph are a waste of space? So Long And Thanks For All The Fish.

Re: Ford not on court when he expected (IndyStar)
I guess the question is what is the difference between how Ford was used in Toronto and how he is used here in Indy.
In Toronto, I'm guessing that his game appears to be the same where he was an effective scorer but still a somewhat effective creator on the offensive end ( clearly with a higher Assist average ). But here in Indy, his game has translated more into a "shoot first, pass second" Guard that is more of a "SG then a PG".
What is the difference ( other then the Coach and offensive system run ) between Toronto and Indy?Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.Comment

I haven't noticed if this has been happening all season, but did anybody notice last night that when Rush or Ford mad a bad pass or a turnover, OB immediately took them out and put D. Jones and Watson in.Larry Bird and Ryan Grigson- wasting the talents of Paul George and Andrew LuckComment

Re: Ford not on court when he expected (IndyStar)
TJ had several drives where he got a look that was far better than his normal. He then awkwardly passed out of those. Contrast that with his attacking where he goes all out until he's trapped, then pulls a bail out pass.
So yes, he wasn't good at "sharing", but no, that doesn't make being selfish A-OK. It makes him a lousy PG. Especially if he's giving up on the "experiment" after one game.
This idea that only he can score is dumb. You think Mark Jackson wouldn't have found ways to get Hibbert, Rush and DJones going?
TJ has one key problem - awareness. He has almost no sense of what other players want to do, where they can or will go, how they can work with him and most importantly how he can set them up.
His version of PG is "I break em down, get into the paint, maybe shoot or kick it to you because you're probably open if I'm in the lane with the ball".
Seriously, that's not sarcasm on my part, that's my evaluation of his methodology as though I were an opposing coaching trying to figure out what he was going to do. So I draw him into traps inside, pin down the easy bailout and either strip the ball, get a really forced ugly shot, or get an awkward and maybe high arcing pass. If he wants to try and beat me with his one-legged fade jumper then more power to him.Comment

Obie coming out and saying he didn't trust BRush to inbound the ball
I get that sometiems you throw an outlet pass to the other team, but 1-2 times every game for weeks at a time??? It's almost like he's throwing the game at times.
But he and TJ get all the JOB trust. It's beyond my understanding now with those 3.Comment

Originally posted by Mike WellsO'Brien had Dahntay Jones (14 percent on 3-pointers) in the game because he didn't trust Brandon Rush to throw the ball inbounds to go with Ford (1-of-28 on 3-pointers) and rookie Tyler Hansbrough (0-of-4 on 3-pointers)."(Jones) is a much better inbounder," O'Brien said.
"We did not want Michael because it's much too easy to guard Michael when he's inbounding the basketball. Brandon is not an option."And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
