    What the heck happened?

    True story.

On Nov. 20th before I left for the airport I recall the Pacers leading the Cavs in the 2nd half. That's the last thing I recall about the Pacers because while overseas the only few scores I kept up with were those of the Hoyas and the Red(dead)skins.

I arrive back this morning and did some catching up on a lot of things only to learn that Indiana has gone into a tailspin (including dropping that game against the Cavs) and that Hibbert has fallen off a cliff. I noticed in one boxscore that Jeff Foster even started over Roy. What in the world has been going on in Pacers Land, folks? And how did it all become so undone this quickly? Is there inner strife taking place? Why can't the guys on the team make shots? For those of you who have seen the games why is the team and Roy less effective these past 10 days?

Maybe throw in a Tiger Woods and Iverson update too.

Mr. Obrien feels that starting Jeff Foster and Troy Murphy gives us our best chance to win... yea, you read that right.

My best attempt at a short version:

We got healthy. Foster and Murphy came back, and Obie has felt the need to not only play them, but start them over a lineup that was working.

We came out and laid one epic stinker in Charlotte, played one good game against a ho-hum opponent (Clippers), and have been up and down since (mostly down).

Roy's minutes are cut drastically with the return of Murphy and Foster, and depending on who you ask, he seems as if he may be sulking a bit. Obie has claimed that Roy's starting spot is dictated by matchups, or so it seems.

The cry for Obie's head around here is escalating more and more with his insistence on playing Foster ahead of Hibbert, moving Dahntay to the bench, and his lineup shuffling.

Dunleavy came back, played well in limited minutes, and figures to come off the bench for a while as he works into game shape.

I'm not sure what to make of the Tiger Woods thing. I don't really think anyone does. The whole thing seems really fishy. I like the irony of his wife bashing the back window of his car out with a golf club to get him out. All I know is if it were me who pulled all that stuff, I'd probably be in jail.

Iverson's camp was shocked that NY decided against signing him. They thought it was a done deal according to various reports. Now, with Louis Williams pulling a Kanye West "through the wire" (aka, he broke his jaw and is eating through a straw for a little while), the 76ers are forced to start Jrue Holiday, and he is obviously not ready and has underwhelmed thus far. So I guess, according to reports, Stefanski and Eddie Jordan met with Iverson today in Dallas, so it's possible he has a second tour of duty in Philly, where they desperately need him to sell tickets and play halfway decent ball.

              cdash summed things up nicely.

As to the Tiger Wood incident, I'll say it: He got busted having an affair and his wife "clubbed" him throw the back window of his Escalade, knocked him out and he clipped a tree. And you thought Tiger could swing a 9-iron...

The moral of the story: Hell has no fury like a woman scorned.

                Hey Rip Van Winkle,

I was wondering where you were during all this controversial discussion about Hibby.

We have been playing better teams and Roy has been in a slump.

                      Re: What the heck happened?

Faction one will say Troy Murphy got healthy. Also, it is painfully obvious when you watch how the team defends, that the perimeter guys are not pressing because if they get beat, no one will be helping them...and they will look foolish...and get pulled by JOb. So the opposition can more easily run plays and score at a higher FG%.

Faction two will say the competition is so much better it's not even funny. They will also claim that Troy is nothing short of an all-star who gets no respect for his above average defense. They laugh at the team without Troy Murphy for losing to the Cavs and Lebron by 10 points...even though the Troy team lost to the dominant Center, Nazr Muhammad and the Bobcats two days later by 16. Also, the Celtics are overrated and Roy is really just a project who no team would take as their starting C even though he schooled Heywoode and played Lopez to a draw. Also, Dahntay Jones is not the defender Kobe Bryant thinks he is...and Earl Watson is not as good of a PG as TJ Ford who is an absolute lockdown defender, dominant physical specimen and amazing playmaker and leader at the PG position.

                      Take your pick.

imagine going into work everyday and seeing your friends moved to another section, now u have to start trusting the new guys, keep the same starters , stop changing it up every freken game, y change the line up to match up with theres, whos in control , play our game make them change theres, its not that hard to realise obrien's mistake , with the pacer teams that were successful we just about kept the same line up for the whole year , barring injuries , now we change them like we change our undies
