We are now gonna see what kind of coach we have (although most of us know). Dohntay will get his deserved minutes while OB continues to allow the vets to work their way back in the lineup.
At least we won't have to see Granger moping at the end of the bench.
And if there is a team more dysfunctional than these Pacers, tonight's the night to witness.

We get Dunleavy back and down goes Granger. Well I just heard Dunleavy isn't playing, too. So yeah. Great. Wonder how many months Danny will be out?

Well, time to see who will step up for this team.

When one door closes another one opens. Most here will disagree with my take on Danny going down, however I will give it anyway. I for one feel and have felt for awhile now that Danny prevents the Pacers from establishing a team oriented offense. Seth mentioned how Danny gets a pass for his firing away early in the clock and that he takes a huge percentage of the total shots taken, while Jackson was hammered for doing basically the same thing on a lesser scale. This maybe an oportunity for Obie to actually install an offense that gets the whole team involved without having to step on Danny's toes for shooting too much and too quick.

I know that I have been critical of Roy, but I think Danny going down could actually benefit him. Come on big fella step up and silence your critics, I for one will be rooting for you.

The only thing that this is good for is that it may also get rid of his heel injury.

Don't agree. I think Danny forces things because OB has failed to get an offense going. I don't think OB has failed because of Granger. Not biting on that one.

I do not think that Danny is committed to the offensive scheme. Often, it seems like he's not even trying to get the offense going. Chucking threes before a single pass isn't a failure of the offensive scheme, its the player deciding the scheme isn't worth his time.

I'm not saying that the offensive scheme is a masterpiece by any means, but analyzing the microcosm that is this season, Granger looks inefficient and has made some poor shot choices.

There are obviously a lot of factors, including injury and the lineup changes to consider.

We're assuming JOB has some kind of offensive scheme that Danny is breaking or not committing to. I'm giving JOB the benefit of the doubt in assuming he has such a scheme.

But I doubt it. It's mostly just "cut and make things happen" and he magically expects cool things to emerge. I would bet that JOB strongly encourages Granger to hoist up shots early and often.

Can any people with medical knowledge of this sort of thing tell me what this means? Is this a monther? a week or 2? or just a couple games? I keep thinking of Danny tripping and spraining an ankle going for the ambrosia salad at the cafeteria.

I think it depends on the degree of the strain. If it's no too bad, perhaps 2 weeks or so. If it's moderate I'd say closer to 6 weeks.

Since it happened last night and he seemed to be playing fine on it, I'm guessing (and hoping) it's minor

that's bad news, we are screwed if Danny isn't playing. I was hoping it was just like a 1 or 2 game thing.

It will be interesting to see how this club plays with Danny not there to shoot most of the shots. What if we go on a 5 game win streak with Danny out, I can hear the trade talk starting already Danny for Chris Paul, Danny for Monta Ellis, Danny for X + 1st rounder...
