we are trying again tomorrow, due to the difference in servers (and thus in version of php and mariadb) we encounter a lot of errors.

I will try again tomorrow (Sunday 29-09) from about 10.30 am BST (EST -5)

As the problem has now been localized to the new server we do not need to shut things down at the moment. we will only do that to move the database so all latest posts are included.

As it is even if we put the old site up on new server it's not working, likely due to new php and mariadb versions (we mainly have php errors in some scripts)

so as soon as I get a reply from VB support i will finish the work off and we can re-open without any weird errors (I hope)
then in the weeks to come I will make it all look more pretty!

well I had the problem pinned down, VB didn't really reply and my cache was biting my arse

If I am right, everything is here and during the upgrade Ii was told At present, your forum has more than 2,860,744 posts, so there is that

HTML/(read looks) done later this month when i have time to breath
