Will Kareem Rush be a Pacer in 2008-2009?

As big as a surprise Kareem Rush has been to some people (not myself) do you see TPTB giving this kid a well deserved contract or will another team high ball us.

I think he stays a Pacer.

At the most he might get a little more than the MLE.

Sure, he has been a real good player for us and a big suprise but yet he is only averaging 8 points. I'm not trying to take anything away from what he has done but he still isn't going to have half the league waiting to sign him.

And because the Pacers are the team that gave him a chance this year I think he will be somewhat loyal. I think that they will shell out the money for him especially if a trade can get done relieving the Pacers of some salary.

Not unless we shed salary and not if another team tries to overpay him.

And he deserves no where near the MLE. He's a backup SG.

I hope we gather enough talent over the next 6 months that we don't have to look at the Kareem Rush's of the world to try to make our team better.

much as rush has been a pleasant surprise, he's replaceable. we need to upgrade our core.

I wish that we can resign him....but he's going to bolt for a higher bidder if not greener pastures.

It's too bad....I really wanted to try to build some team chemistry with a player that knows the system and can really contribute.

I really feel that trading daniels for an expiring contract is something we should really look into... On one hand it would enable us to sign kareem, and at the same time allow stephan graham to get more minutes. If there is one move we should make before the deadline, thats the one.

I hope he is. I like how he plays. He could be a starter for us if we had the right point guard.

I would put the odds at about 60% chance he isn't here, just because another team will give him more money.

                          How much does he deserve?

The real question here... is he having a superb season because he's getting minutes. Its not adding up in w/l column.

If our record was 31-21 vs 21-31 you have to give him a generous offer. I am thinking he gets 2m a year from us, probably more from someone else.

                              Stevenson $ 3.3
                              Fred Jones $3.3
                              Willie Green $3
                              Rasual Butler $3.3
                              James Jones $2.9
                              Damien Wilkins $2.9
Finely $3.1 (not including Dallas' check)
                              Charilie Bell $3.1

I would say that Rush is between $2.1 and $3.3 depending on length.

If Diener is making $1.5 what does Kareem deserve?
