I mean I have no idea what they will do, but Dame is like 10 years older than those dudes. Dump him for something and now you've got Simons + Sharpe + prospect of choice + whatever you get for Dame all growing together. Sounds better to me.

If Portland decides to dump Dame and do. Complete rebuilt, Iโ€™d look into trading some of our picks for Sharpe
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

I totally agree. I would be completely in favor of trading Dame, dumping all of the bad contracts with him while taking on as many future draft picks and assets as possible. The Dame Boat sailed a long time ago.

I'm just saying that it's likely a 50/50 chance that the Blazers re-tool with Lillard or tear it down completely. They're in a similar sinking boat as the Wizards with Beal. The difference is that the Blazers are in a position to completely restart with a completely clean slate moving forward. Get a bunch of prospects to try out along with draft picks and a huge lot of Expiring Contracts so that you can start fresh in the 2024-2025 season with loads of cap space and one of Scoot, Amen or Brandon out of this draft.

Seems perfectly fine with me. The question is whether they want to continue to Lillard experiment or not.

If you're rebuliding, I'd think that you'd want to keep Sharpe as a building block for the rebuild.

A move to go after Turner and Hield ( or more specifically, trade #4 for vets ) does make sense with Udoka at the helm and the possibility of making a run at Harden.
Rockets go all in on a big three of Harden, Hield, and Turner?? I think we should help them with their plan, lol

If we can get value out of Heild I'm all for it, but I'm not sure that we can. I kinda hate saying this as a guy who desperately wanted to trade him this past season, but at this point with the way the salary floor works and the fact I think his value is minimal...I'd love to do the same thing with Buddy we did with Myles. Sign him to a giant deal this year using our cap space that makes his future years very reasonable. I think that makes him a more valuable trade piece or just a more valuable piece on a team that may want to compete in the next few seasons.

LOL the Buddie Hield complex is real. He is just good enough at shooting and scoring to warrant his contract. But just bad enough at everything else for you to think that he will ultimately hurt your ceiling. Pacers are not winning anything with him as a starting player. Get him out of here if he doesn't wan to move to the bench. He doesn't fit the timeline of this team otherwise.

The FA class is weak, we need to take on salary, and we have too many players under contract. What does that mean? Mainly that the Pacers will be active in the trade market starting with the draft and over the course of the summer. My gut feeling is Hali, Mathurin, Nesmith, Nembhard, and Turner are going to be here next year, and everyone else as well as picks are up for trade.

I doubt that the Pacers sign a new Starting level Free Agent.

I'm expecting that the Pacers will simply trade for one by packaging one or two of the Expiring Contracts ( likely Hield and/or Theis ) + one of the 1st round draft picks with the other 2nd round draft picks as sweetner for some Vet that another Team wants to move on from.
