If we look at the last 4 games we see both the issues we need to address for next year, and the reasons we should all be optomistic about next year and several years beyond that. I believe we are on track to end up wih a contender in the next couple of years. Time will tell.
    Go Pacers!

it's also why Benn is just different. Dude does the things that big time winning greats do and while he doesn't do them consistently because he's young the DNA is all there.

Nembhard doing what he is doing is great because it hopefully means he can be seen as the center piece of a trade for an established all star quickly to go alongside Hali, Benn and our upcoming hopeful Lotto pick.

No need to trade Nems. With a solid draft let those young guys grow together and establish a winning culture.

Sadly there is just not enough room, unless we are going to move Mathurin to the 3 full time. If you do, Buddy Hield has to go for sure. Mathurin is not going to be happy being the 6th man and frankly once we determined that this season was beyond reach we should have made him a starter as well.

Nembhard is impressive for where he was picked and Benn has had a few games that were stinkers. But let's not pretend that for basically the months of January and February that Nembhard didn't mostly suck on the floor and never lost his spot or minutes. To his credit he should be a starter in the league and yes there is always the chance it will bite us in the @ss but are you really going to make him the point guard over Haliburton? Obviously no.

But you have to give up something to get something and Nembhard honestly makes the most sense.

Keep Nemby. Trade Buddy and Turner for an elite big.

It sounds nice, but IMO it's pretty unrealistic. Teams either keep their stars or trade them for young players. There's no real purpose for a team to trade one great player for two good veterans.

Didn’t you just set the table for Nemby to be 6th man backing up 1, 2 and 3? IMO, it’s Duarte who the odd man out.

I think Duarte will not be in a Pacer uniform next year

Fair enough. Might have to throw in a first or two.

Not if the goal is to retrieve a superior player in trade. Who is going to value Duarte as anything? At best some team might think they can get some value from him but nobody is going to accept him as the young talent in return for an established semi star player. Nembhard isn't going to be the center piece either but he is one hell of a sweetener when you also consider he is signed long term to a super value contract.

Plus not sure how thrilled he would be being relegated to the bench after starting all season long.
