    Free Agency + Trade

As our draft position & odds slowly diminish, I find my mind wandering to free agency. I also can't help thinking that the trade market might be a better place to upgrade than a mid-late lottery pick.
So come at me with targets that you'd like & who you think the front office will go after.

Free agency might be hard as the guys that fit the position & timeline are restricted free agents. Grant Williams, Cam Johnson, PJ Washington.

Trade wise I still like the idea of OG Anunoby, John Collins still float near the top for me. An ideal scenario in my mind would be someone getting both.

Chris Duarte, Daniel Theis, 2023 Pacers Pick, 2023 Cavaliers Pick + 2023 Rockets 2nd Round Pick for OG Anunoby.
Isaiah Jackson, TJ McConnell + 2023 Boston Pick for John Collins

    C. Turner / Smith
    PF. Collins / Nwora
    SF. Anunoby / Nesmith
    SG. Mathurin / Hield
    PG. Haliburton / Nembhard

    - Turner would be the 2nd oldest guy in the rotation at 27 years old behind our boy Buddy who will be 31. If Buddy wasn't so close to Tyrese I think he would be traded very quickly.

I can't say I like it. By the time we have to pay Hali and Benn, we won't be able to afford that group. That's why I think it's important to build from the draft and wait to add a star when the right one becomes available.

The Cleveland approach? I guess acquiring some future 1st Round Picks would be a good idea if that's the idea. I feel Hield, Duarte + maybe Jackson could get us a future 1st.

I do like that approach, Im just impatient haha

I think it's a wait and see how the rest of the season goes and let other teams decide what their future looks like. We can stand pat, but I can't see them bringing in 5 rookies. I believe a trade will be made to move up or for a veteran to even out the roster. I don't think they will give up on Kendall Brown just yet and keeping him would basically be adding 6 rookies to the team. I can see them going after someone like Oubre to shore up the bench scoring in free agency, but no big moves unless it's a trade.

OG is grossly overrated. I’m from Toronto and i watch most, if not all of his game. And it ain’t that many. I still think Masai was negligent in not accepting 3 first rounders. Also keep in mind that OG’s contract expires in 2024 and he’s going to want a lot of money
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

That looks like a team that can lose 3 straight first round playoff series and ensure Hali demands a trade.

Our lottery odds haven't changed really. All it would take is a two or three game slide and we'd be back picking fifth in the draft this Summer. That's before the ping pong balls are sorted out. We could end up picking fourth. In my opinion. I would seriously consider moving the pick for Zach Lavine, or a player on that tier. Bradley Beal is another name I thought of. But the Bulls are most likely to blow it up than Washington. Lavine makes way over $30 mil though. So he'd instantly be the highest paid on the team. Not sure how that would go over. But he's two years younger than Bradley. And far more athletic. I think his deal would end at age 31. It's perfect timing. Other deals I'd consider include:

4th or 5th pick for Mikhail Bridges, or Lauri Markennen, or SGA, or if Boston falters... Jaylen Brown.

At this point, I wouldn't trade those guys just to trade them. Buddy if the price is right maybe. The other guys need to play to build up some value and then maybe they can be used in a deal for a star or for future picks. IMO this is our last chance to get a high pick as long as Hali stays healthy, so I'd bet on Duarte and Jackson over some future mid-round pick.

Lauri + Hali in this offense would be insane. I'd take him over Siakam.

Siakam is good but too much tread on his tires to fit with this iteration of our team.

My thoughts haven’t changed. Big defensive wing and a starting pf who is at least 6’8 not including hair. I’m still annoyed lakers we’re able to take both Vanderbilt and Hachimura for so little.

at this point, I’d probably target Obi Toppin, Patrick Willliams, and PJ Washington. Unclear which sf to pursue but OG seems to be the best option still? Maybe Cam Johnson or the non violent Bridges.

Peck is basically omniscient when it comes to understanding how the minds of Herb Simon and Kevin Pritchard work. I was a fool to ever question him and now feel deep shame for not understanding that this team believes in continuity above talent.

If we trade our best picks from this draft for O freaking G, I will rage quit the Pacers for a few months.

Definition of a middle ground team. Not good enough to beat tier 1 and tier 2 teams. Not bad enough to suck.
