Raptors declined Pacers offer for OG

    https://basketball.realgm.com/wireta...For-OG-Anunoby

The Toronto Raptors kept OG Anunoby at the trade deadline despite considerable interest. ESPN's Bobby Marks said approximately half the league submitted offers to the Raptors for Anunoby.

Zach Lowe detailed the interest in Anunoby from the Memphis Grizzlies and Indiana Pacers.

"For instance, I've heard Memphis offered three first round picks for Anunoby," said Lowe on his podcast. "But Toronto made it clear to these teams like 'we want a player too.' I don't think that sort of player was on the table at least from their view at least in Memphis.

"Indiana, I heard offered three first round picks and the Rockets' second round pick, which I believe they own in this upcoming draft. Which is almost like another first round pick.

"But again, the player chip wasn't there for Toronto and they moved to fight another day."

The Golden State Warriors also discussed a trade for Anunoby, but are not believed to have been close to discussing the details of a move.

wonder if it was for the top 4 picks the Ps have this year.

Seems like a steep price but guess TPTB think it was worth it. Guessing TR wanted one of our good young pieces

If true thank goodness. Again. IF true. Just having the balls to take a swing is reason for hope. I bought into pacers being a player at deadline. All the ingredients were there for kp. Vets. Young players. Cap room. Draft picks. Sellers market. Maybe some of that was bs.

I have moderate faith in specifically RC to help draft talent. However. I am sincerely cautious anyone outside the lottery the pacers have any chance of hitting a home run level pick.

ergo. Outside our pick which will probably be late lottery. All the other picks are worthless. So hell yea. Deal them for some sort of semblance of talent. OG was probably worth our entire 2023 draft due to what appears to be years of incompetence.

oh well โ€ฆ least we will have something to chatter about come June.

I have no idea what the hell we are going to do with 4 draft picks. We are barely playing 2 of the last 3 1st rounders.

I highly doubt we would have offered our first this year unless it was heavily protected

OG is so overrated. Glad they turned it down.

True cause without 4 more duartes the franchise has no hopes of a playin push.

No way the Pacers offered up this years pick, especially without any protection. Because Raptors would've took it...that's potentially 2 chances at landing Wemby.

It's important to note here that Zach Lowe is relaying what he's heard. Zach Lowe isn't claiming that he has an inside source in any organization that has told him for sure that this happened. He's just repeating what he has heard other people say. Whether these other people had legitimate sources or not is anyone's guess. I'm not saying that Lowe is lying or anything, I do fully believe that this is what he has heard, all I'm saying is that he's basically repeating hearsay so we need to take that with a grain of salt.

In any case, IF we actually did that then I'm very glad it got rejected. It would not be a move in the right direction.

First off it is impossible to decipher what is real and what is just intended as content/click bait in these reports.

Also Impossible to know what was really offered. What picks in what years were offfered? What were the protections? How likely were they to convey? How could a player(s) not be included in the deal given the Raptors cap situation? Yet the usual suspects will claim the worst possible scenario was offered by Pritchard, declare it to be true because they are omniscient about all things Pacer & NBA and pollute the board again for a couple days.

I would have been OK with OG at the right value. Not unreasonable to assume the Front Office had done the calculus and the value just wasn't there. They actually have a pretty good track record with trades.

Raps gonna lose Lowry, Van Fleet and Trent for nothing. Smart GM.

Thank you Masai for not taking advantage of the incompetent Pacers front office and turning this horrible offer down

Once again Pritchard gets saved from himself

I don't think they're gonna lose Trent tbh. I've been saying it'd be kinda silly for them to let him go (shooting), and was probably very nearly wrong several times during the trade deadline frenzy, but I bet they re-sign him.

Someone told me that Memphis was an organization that we should model ourselves after. Let start the mental gymnastics of how Memphis is smart for trying to get OG, but the Pacers are dumb.

Memphis is better at every position besides SF and C. Memphis also has been a contender
