The train for Tankville has already left. Unfortunately with the injuries, the Pacers will more than likely fall back in the standings. The bad part is they will probably only fall to the 10-12 seed and be stuck with a 11-14 pick .

We’ll have a tough 2 or 3 week stretch. We’ll be fine. I see us anywhere between the 6 and 8 seed in late April

Unless Halliburton is out for the rest of the season, there is no way that the Pacers will tend up with anything other than a late lottery pick.

Given how many wins that the Pacers have under their belt and Halliburton going down with 2 weeks to ??? Who knows how long is the worst case scenario for this season. They have too many wins to tank and they are just good enough to win more than enough to push them well past the point of no return.

OK so Miami is playing today and if they win and and Pacers lose Pacers will move to 8th place.

Hawks and Raptors today as well, we need Hawks to move up as well

This is an embarrassingly silly thread.

The differnce between best case scenario and worst case scenario for tanking is something like picking 12th or picking 16th.

There literally is not a significant difference in hit rate between those two picks.

In other words, it doesn't matter. We aren't getting a top ten pick, much less a top 3 pick. We gain nothing by losing games at this point.

                Let this go.

^^^ bad take by someone clearly uninformed about the current draft class. You can throw the hit rate out the window this year.

Give me number 11 over getting hosed in the first round by the Bucks or Boston.

I do not follow anything other than the NBA so with that being said I know of 2 blue chippers coming out.

How deep is this draft for impact players? Honestly I'm not interested in drafting another project that might be a bench player some day, I'd rather just trade some of the excess we have for something better. But if you say the draft is 12-13 deep that might change my mind.

It really is that deep and that's not just my opinion. All the paid draftniks think so as well. For example, the youngest player in this class (GG Jackson) was the consensus #1 pick in the 2024 draft before he reclassified. Considering he was just 17 for part of the season, he's probably played better than expected , yet he still doesn't crack the top 10 on most draft boards. There looks to be star-level talent throughout the lottery and starting-level talent throughout the 1st round. We discussed this in the draft thread, but Keegan Murray's twin brother Kris is another good example. There's almost no chance he goes in the lottery, and he may be a better player than his bro who just went 4th. So yeah, we're incredibly fortunate to have all these picks.

WTF does this even mean? You know there are exactly 11, 12, 13 players who will hit this year? You know that they'll be drafted in perfect order?

By the time the draft rolls around, there will be little to no difference between the value of 12 and 16.

Draft is crazy deep. And mocks are all over the place. You will see guys in the top 10 on one mock and not drafted at all on 2 more. Teams with good scouting departments are going to feast on this draft late in the first and even the second. Unfortunately we have Pritchard...but at least he has 3 tries to get it right! There will be 5 or more players taken after the 25th pick that end up significantly better than our lotto pick Duarte.
