We’re halfway through the season and only 5.5 games back from first in the East. Now, there’s no way we’ll get there but I don’t think we can assume we will just be play-in fodder and get sacrificed to Giannis in the first round either. This team could get a competitive play-off seed which is crazy given the expectations this year.

Nesmith reminds me of better Jae Crowder.

the duarte pick is the blemish on what has otherwise been a nearly perfect 24 months from Pritchard and the Pacers FO.

sucks that it was such an obviously bad decision though.

Duarte was mocked in the mid-20’s some places, cannot believe we picked him so early. I know Golden State reportedly wanted him yadda yadda yadda but I still think he was picked way too early.

That’s what happens when you limit your ambitions with a lottery pick, albeit a late lottery pick, to finding someone you hope will replace Doug freaking McDermott.

Props to Rick for setting up a system around his best player, we all know previous coaches would have play him like he was Chauncey Billups, walk it up and pass it.

To be fair their choice was between him or the guy in Washington, I rather have Street clothes Duarte.

Besides MT, who do you want? Vucevic? He’s making 22M and an UFA this summer. You can’t find what MT brings in very many 5s: defense including PNR and blocks and ability to hit from outside. Look at current salaries. Ready for trying to sign Vucevic away from Chicago? Contract is 22 and he’ll be looking for a raise.

Horford turns 37 this summer and is in rapid decline. Lopez turns 36. Adams can’t shoot and will clog the driving lanes. Trade for Mitch Robinson? Same issue. Trade for Porzingis? Injuries and UFA in 2024. Gobert? Huge contact and no shooting.

in the modern NBA, Myles game is perfect as a complimentary star. (As much of a star as Draymond Green)

                  33 with declining years

Dirty play in the response to Hield’s block. Surprised they didn’t consider flagrant 2 or technical. I can understand his frustration but seemed very immature.

None. We have Theis and Smith on contract next year. If we can't bring back Goga, pick up a G-Leaguer or draft a 3rd big. Depending on how we draft, spend the money on a 4 or 3.

Coming into this game he had hit 33 FT’s in a row. He hadn’t missed in a month and a half.

Right. But not that many with the game on the line. These showed me something about him.

FWIW, I thought that Mark Williams kid from Duke looked pretty good for a young guy. Handled Jalen pretty well. Not so much with Myles. Has a lot to learn I think. But has some promise.
