    Game #29 Pacers vs Warriors

Warriors looking to get one back from the Pacers and they might.

    Game Preview

A little over a week ago, the Pacers knocked off the defending champs on their home court. On Wednesday, Indiana (14-14) will go for the season sweep when they host Steph Curry and the Warriors (14-14) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Blue & Gold will be hoping to close out their four-game homestand on a winning note, after dropping close decisions to Brooklyn and Miami in their past two contests. There were different issues over those two nights, as the Pacers surrendered 136 points and 29 offensive rebounds against the Nets, then were limited to a season-low 82 points by the Heat.

Those results notwithstanding, Indiana will enter Wednesday's contest with confidence having already beaten the Warriors barely a week earlier. The Pacers were actually undermanned for that game in San Francisco, playing without starters Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner as well as backup point guard T.J. McConnell, but still managed to find a way to win, thanks in part to a career night by rookie guard Andrew Nembhard.

Haliburton, Turner, and McConnell are all back and should offer Indiana reinforcements for the rematch. The Pacers' biggest focus will remain on the defensive end as they contend with the Warriors' high-octane offensive attack.

While Klay Thompson got hot for Golden State last week, making eight 3-pointers, the Pacers did an exceptional job on his fellow "Splash Brother" Curry. The two-time MVP entered last Monday's contest fourth in the NBA in scoring at 30.8 points per game, but the Pacers limited him to a season-low 12 points on 3-of-17 shooting (2-of-10 from 3-point range).

    Projected Starters

    Pacers: G - Tyrese Haliburton, G - Andrew Nembhard, F - Buddy Hield, F - Aaron Nesmith, C - Myles Turner

    Warriors: G - Stephen Curry, G - Jordan Poole, F - Jonathan Kuminga, F - Draymond Green, C - Kevon Looney

    Injury Report

Pacers: Kendall Brown - out (right tibia stress reaction), Chris Duarte - out (G League assignment), Daniel Theis - out (right knee surgery)

Warriors: Draymond Green - probable (sore left ankle), Stephen Curry - questionable (sore right knee),Andre Iguodala - out (left hip injury management), Klay Thompson - out (right Achilles tendon injury management), Andrew Wiggins - out (right adductor strain)

    Last Meeting

Dec. 5, 2022: With Tyrese Haliburton and T.J. McConnell both sidelined, rookie point guard Andrew Nembhard was simply brilliant, tallying 31 points, 13 assists, and eight rebounds to lead undermanned Indiana to a 112-104 victory at Golden State.

One week to the day after hitting a buzzer-beating three to stun LeBron James and the Lakers, Nembhard put together the most complete game of his career against Steph Curry and the Warriors. The 22-year-old Canadian went 13-for-21 from the field and 5-for-7 from 3-point range in 41 minutes.

"I mean the team has so (many) giving guys that want to give confidence to other guys," Nembhard said. "They had super confidence in me, the coaching staff had super confidence in me. Then we just wanted to kind of stick together down the stretch and I think it was just a good team win all together, and I ended up hitting some shots that were big."

Buddy Hield finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in the victory. Jalen Smith added 15 points, nine boards, and three blocks and three other Pacers reached double figures.

Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 28 points, going 8-for-16 from long range. Jordan Poole added 23 points, five boards, and four assists.

Stephen Curry, who entered the night fourth in the NBA in scoring at 30.8 points per game, managed just 12 points on 3-of-17 shooting (2-of-10 from 3-point range).

    Noteworthy
    • The Warriors have won their last three games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Indiana's last home win over Golden State was on April 5, 2018.
    • Curry has made at least one 3-pointer in 214 consecutive regular season games, the longest streak in NBA history.
    • Pacers forward Buddy Hield leads the NBA in 3-pointers made since the start of the 2018-19 season with 1,194. Curry is second with 1,114 despite playing only five games in 2019-20 due to injury.

I don’t think the Warriors rest anyone since the starters besides Poole didn’t play over 28 minutes

Warriors are gonna open a can of whoop...

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Steph gets 40 in the first three quarters.

yea...agreed...i know theyre a class organization that likes to be above such things, but the P's embarrassed them on their home court and that wound is still fresh...

you have the P's coming off one of their best efforts of the season and still lost at home against miami...hard to put forth back-to-back efforts like that in this day and age...but theyre young, so they have it in them...

Hali had one of his worst games as a pro, so I expect to see him rebound with a vengeance if hes half the gamer i think he is....but i dont think it will be enough to overcome the onslaught that is likely to be coming from the defending world champions...

This is quite likely the last time we see .500 for a very long time...

Saw somewhere that Klay and Wiggins are out. Draymond and Steph are questionable, or something close to that.

              Steph probably worried about Nembhard

                  Somehow we’re favoured by 2.5
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

I would predict a GSW revenge game but think we're also going to be pretty hungry for a W tonight after the last couple of games. Especially if they're resting guys, think it's more likely than not we find a way to pull this one out. Sure would be nice to see us blow an opponent out at some point and/or win comfortably for a change but not really expecting that anytime soon.

That's even worse...have we forgotten what happened against Brooklyn?

Yeah, but specifically because of that loss, no way they overlook this one.

Let's hope that they did forget.

Maybe...but they definitely won't be playing a gleague team like they against Brooklyn

and with so many on here high on kuminga and moody we could get a very good look at them tonight
