Lol we think alike. Yes, right now Jarace and Baba are my most intriguing heading into the college season, playing a position of need for us. Both going to colleges with coaches (Sampson/Hamilton) who will preach defense and toughness.

#1 Pick you go Wembanyama, outside of that I'm looking at Cam Whitmore, Dariq Whitehead, Amen Thompson + Ausar Thompson to fill that SF spot with some actual size.
I love Terry Taylor as well, but I think with our other assets we should look at upgrading that back-up PF as well.

        C. Isaiah Jackson / Goga Bitadze (I'm re-signing him)
        PF. Jalen Smith / Rookie
        SF. Rookie / Aaron Nesmith
SG. Bennedict Mathurin / Chris Duarte
PG. Tyrese Haliburton / TJ McConnell

We have to be very careful the kind of player we select at the #3 spot. It cannot be a guy looking to "get his", but someone who's willing to play the system or provide elite defense (a Franz Wagner/OG type). The focus is building a TEAM where the pieces compliment each other. Honestly, this is partly why, if we don't land Wemby, I am ok dealing the pick for cornerstone big/sf who does fit with Hali/Benn.

Dariq seems to have his head on straight but definitely curious how these guys will all play with real coaching against real competition.

At 1, no question what you do. At 2? Scoot or trade?
Outside that I sure like Cam Whitmore

I think at 3 you still take "that guy" if he is there as it's the 3rd pick & it'd be silly picking for fit over talent. In saying that I think most of those guys fit. The main one is Cam Whitmore on terms of 3/D, he is an absolute unit in terms of hoe he is built & very strong defensive instincts. Right now the 3rd best projected player is actually another guard in Nick Smith Jr, 6'5 combo guard out of NC State.

Leading into the season Dariq is my guy. I have him in the same tier as Scoot.

He is number 0. We already have a 0 and 00. Triple 000 probably not allowed.

He looks like a good scoring sf from distance. Put him on the list.

Brandon Miller at 6'9" sf with handles and athleticism. ??

To fit with Hali and Mathurin you're probably right, but I think we can afford to go best player even if it's not an immediate flip. Stack talent for a year and wait for a team to go big for Haliburton or Mathurin. I'm not necessarily confident in this FO with that strategy, but it could end up the best play.

I like the big show fire Mathurin has and Haliburton is definitely talented. I think there's a personality fit between the two. Haliburton being confident and steady, Mathurin fiery. They COULD be a championship backcourt - can they defend like it?
"man, PG has been really good."

Hypothetically, if we got the 2nd overall pick, would you tank Scoot? If so, what do we do with Haliburton
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

The last time a ball dominant, me-first undersized 2 guard led his team to the title was...? He may be explosive and flashy, but will he ever lead you anywhere close to a title? I'd stay far away, especially with our current roster makeup.
