On (very) few, rare occasions, this old forum is able to give me some modicum of sanity. Outside of here, everyone is talking about Cam, no one is talking about Ausar, and I even saw one mock giving us Keyonte George!
It's a new day for Pacers Basketball.

I'm willing to make a large bet that โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹none of those guys will be available at 26. I'd be happy to lose too โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹if we drafted one.

The impression that they gave was that he's going to be a very good scorer that will rebound with some potential defensive upside. He'll do well in a system where someone sets him up to score, which the Pacers have with Halliburton. But the problem is that he's puts up below average assist numbers while putting up good FG% numbers ( 47% ) but below average 3pt shooting ( 34% ) and 70% FT shooting on low FTA ( 2.5 attempts per game ).

I read that he's supposed to have a potential higher ceiling, but I'm concerned about his shooting and tunnel vision scoring mentality.

I won't complain if we go after him, but I'm starting to move him down my Big Board.
I dropped him down to 10th after the measurements came out. He's not long enough to play PF and he doesn't have the skillset we need on the wing next to Hali and Benn. I highly doubt he's a guy they target.

So Black, Ausar, and Leonard Miller right off jump...we know of anybody else? I'm encouraged that we're meeting these guys first. Hope that means they're targets.

Add 5 to the picks potentially available. They need shooting alongside Cade and Ivey. I could see them trading back for a guy like Hendricks.

              Detroit โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹gets pick 7 + 29

โ€‹Pacers jump ahead of the Magic and get their guy Ausar

My concern is that he's a bit too much like Mathurin, which would be fine if we didn't already have Benn. Can't have too many ball stoppers. Would rather have someone with better length and perimeter defense/shooting.

Really tough to trade with a division rival though. They would probably be asking for much more than just a late-first to swap.

I mean if we told them we are taking ausar I think it wouldnโ€™t matter, youโ€™d still assume they would want a Hendricks or walker imo

I need Black in San Antonio with Wemby.

I think Black at 4 to Houston is one of the most perfect fits in the entire draft. That Black-Green-Eason-Smith-Sengun starting 5 looks kinda sick to me.

I am sceptical of Whitmore as well, but I did hear on a podcast that he had an injured hand part of the season. That contributed to his lower shooting percentages.
