Other than the flukey strike-shortened season, I believe this was the last time the Pacers finished with a top 10 offense. That has been this team's main problem for well over two decades now. With Rick and the young studs at guard, I'm thinking the drought's not going to last much longer.

^^^ I disagree. It's partially because of the rule changes yeah but it's mostly because offensive schemes have guys taking more efficient shots and the league as a whole is more talented. It's the game evolving.

I think players are more skilled partly due to newer rule changes. Not more talented necessarily, but more skilled. Bigs work on guard skills. Huge dudes work on making nice reads in pick and rolls. Listen to guys that have retired in the last five or ten years. A lot of them say the guys coming in have way more skill than guys they may have played with 15 years ago. Some also say the love of the game isn't always there, so it's a weird combo I guess.
