Really doesn't have a single competitive bone in his body, incredible.

Durant ruined his legacy by going to Brooklyn.

Durant's a bad ball handler and passer. Not even alright at either of those things, he's just flat out bad at them and he was bad at them even at his peak.

Simmons is getting railed everywhere by everyone. If he claimed 'mental issues' as a reason for not playing in Philly, I wonder what he'll come up with for next year in Brooklyn.

And I'd guess that Nash is just getting tired of making excuses for him and sucking up to him in every interview. It's sad to see how he kisses Ben's butt all the time. I'd sure like to hear his REAL thoughts on it.

It's probably a 50-50 thing right now if Simmons ever plays another NBA game. And to think - there were actually a few posters here that wanted to trade for him. And a few vicious rumors about the Pacers trying to make a deal. Glad THAT never came to reality.

Steph Curry somehow still remains underrated.

                He is overrated.

It mostly comes at Thompson's and Green's expense.

Swap him with Lillard (for instance), nothing changes for Portland over the past decade.

Curry has always been the engine of the Warriors. Durant was the one whose team choked a 3-1 lead to Curryโ€™s team and needed to play with Curry to get rings, not the other way around.

Lmaooooooooo. Now that is a spicy take and also completely wrong.

Steph changed the way the game is played. The only reason Lillard thinks to do what he does is because of Steph Curry.

Let's just ignore everything else and start with just their career shooting %'s

                    Steph 48% FG, 43% 3PT

                    Lillard 44% FG, 37% 3PT

Ben Simmons got Stephen A Smith turning back the clock to give us an MJ style breakdown of an NBA player lol

If Durant had to leave the Thunder, he should have gone to Boston in 2016. Imagine what they would have done over the last 6 years. Would have won titles and gone down as a Celtics legend.

Iโ€™ll always think He would have got at least one title in OKC.

That's terrific. Doesn't mean he wins anything without some of the phenomenal talent that's been put around him. Their defense was a huge part of those titles (best in the league the one year they won without KD IIRC), suffices to say he didn't have much to do with that at all.

Btw it's really not that hot of a take. Kids love him ("oh look how far he shoots!") but outside of that I think most see the forest for the trees. MJ questioned if he was even a HoFer a few years ago, now that's a hot take.

In reality a PG can only effect winning so much.

Lillard was just plucked out of the air (hence "for instance"), but the point is do you think Portland wins a title with Curry in his place? I think the answer is obviously no.

Curry's greatness is because of his movement and understanding of angles and always has been. The shooting range is just a bonus. This is one of the fundamental misunderstandings of Steph as a player.

I would disagree, I think the answer is yes. 2015 Blazers win the title if you swap Curry and Lillard. Maybe 2019 as well.

Anyway, we can agree to disagree, no reason to keep taking this thread further off topic, though I suppose the series doesn't matter as much now lol
