I tried to be comprehensive but as you know it's impossible to do. So if you feel none of them really fit you then type it out I guess

74I honestly believe we are going to turn this around and make the playoffs9.46%7I'm still watching and very interested but I think unless there are changes we likely will miss the playoffs22.97%17I check in from time to time, find myself not watching like I used to and know that this season is lost without major changes22.97%17Since Herb made his remarks I've basically given up on the team13.51%10Saw this coming a long time ago, still love the team but almost no interest in what happens this season22.97%17Frankly until there is a change in ownership I don't see a point rooting for a team that is okay with being okay8.11%6Tags: None -
My fandom is where it's been for years now. I'm a fan of basketball, not of the Pacers. The only way that can change is probably an owner change. For me to be a fan of a team I have to believe they are trying their best to win a title. You don't have to win it, but you have to be trying. I waited 30 years for the Chiefs to breakthrough. I'm patient, but I have to see the effort.
The Pacers aren't trying, and they haven't been in a long time.Comment

I would add an option for "Finding enjoyment in reading about this train wreck for laughs and not allowing myself to be so invested in something that makes daily decisions that go against my best interests as a sports team fan"Comment

I really don't care right now. I casually pay attention but I don't care. The owner made it clear that he doesn't care about he product, so why should any fan care? I do care a lot about the Colts because they are just a completely superior organizaiton by any measure.
The Pacers are at the point where they are completely irrelevant to the masses, which is very very sad because the fanbase made a big comeback from 2011-2014 after the previous dark era. I went to quite a few playoff games during that era and it was incredible to witness. Now all of that goodwill has evaporated.
The local media (Doyel, Kravitz) to their credit had some criticism directed at Simon, but by and large the local media will ignore the Pacers for one simple reason: they know that the masses don't really care about the Pacers at the moment. The Pacers are about one one billionth as popular as the Colts are right now. These aren't the Peyton Manning Colts, but they are competitive and fun to root for. Even when the Colts get down (like when Luck retired), they quickly find ways to bounce back and at least mostly remain relevant. When the Colts have playoff aspirations like this season, the Pacers are completely irrelevant to the casual Indy sports fan unless the Pacers are really really good. Then when the Colts season ends, the casual fan will move on to IU and Purdue who are both way more deserving of people's attention than the pathetic Pacers are at the moment.
It's firmly a Colts town now and has been for a very long time. It will never be remotely close again unless the Pacers strike gold and get a Lebron or Curry type of talent. Or until they sell the team to an owner with a modern way of thinking. One can lob whatever criticism they want at Jim Irsay, but no one can ever deny that he wants to win. He would never give an interview like Simon did and basically say that he doesn't care what happens with the team. If the Colts were as awful as the Pacers, Irsay would be livid and there would be immediate changes. Irsay is way more in tune with his fanbase and the realities of the league he is in. Irsay wants to win beyond just the money whereas the Simons basically treat it as a nice rich man hobby that has drastically increased in value. I'm not saying Irsay doesn't care about the money too, but there has always been a fundamental desire in Irsay to purely win....something that you never see from Simon when he actually talks once every blue moon.
If there is apathy on a diehard message board, then just imagine what the masses feel for this team. No one should care when the owner made it clear that he doesn't really care.Last edited by Sollozzo; 12-27-2021, 01:14 PM.Comment

I'm bored. I'm following closely and watching at least portions of most games. But there's just nothing to get excited about. Nothing to feel optimistic about for the future, yet we've been sitting on this core for too long promising things will change once everyone is healthy. TPTB continue to subject the diehards to an eternal treadmill of mediocrity.
The way we've handled Brogdon ever since his acquisition is emblematic of our personnel gaffes. Watching our best talents force their way out of town time after time. Waiting around for Turner to ever be anything more than a shot blocker. Waiting around for Sabonis to overcome his lack of length, athleticism, and shooting outside the paint. Waiting for Turbonis to miraculously lead this team to success. Waiting for TJ Warren to get healthy. Waiting for LeVert to transform into a legitimate starting level guard with any level of efficiency. It's maddening.
Hope for the best possible organic tank.I'd rather die standing up than live on my knees.

I am watching but with little interest. It is more out of habit and curiosity than interest. Checking to see if Duarte is developing and watching Brissett.
We will not make the playoffs this season without some kind of major move, unfortunately, the first player we should move signed an extension in October and is ineligible to be traded until summer.
Without a major move or multiple major moves, we will continue to be stuck as the 7-12 seed in the Conference and a first round exit…IF we make the playoffs.

The lack of an acceptable streaming option for Indy market fans to watch games has pushed my interest to its lowest level in 50 years as a Pacers fan. The bad team has made this loss of interest and availability easier.

This could be much better if they were tanking and developing young players, they are doing neither right now and they are trying to win so we know they will screw up the pick winning meaningless games.@WhatTheFFacts: Studies show that sarcasm enhances the ability of the human mind to solve complex problems!Comment
