    Do we want Gordon Hayward?

For some reason, people in the media seem to be trying to will this into existence. Maybe there's meat on the bones of those rumors, I don't know. In any case, I'm seeing the Celtics in a lot of trade scuttlebutt for both Vic and Myles. If we did a deal with them, you'd have to think he'd be involved.

    Should we go for it?

The "Coming Home"/Renaissance angle is intriguing, and while he's obviously had his struggles in Boston, he looked excellent in his last season with the Jazz, like a bonafide star. If you look at it, he hasn't added much mileage since then, and it's tempting to blame his struggles on the injuries and change of scenery (and role). On the other hand, perhaps he's just washed up.

I would like to see what else we'd get in such a deal (getting Theis in a Myles deal would be a nice touch), but in and of itself, I think I'd go for it. I don't see us getting an All-Star caliber player for either, given Vic's injuries and Myles' limitations, so a gamble like this might be worth it.

If there aren't notably better offers for Myles (and there may be), then I think it should be seriously considered, particularly if Theis is part of the package. He may be washed, but he could also have a career resurgence with a more prominent role. If it goes nowhere, it's an expiring contract.

It seems very unlike the Pacers to send a legitimate piece to an Eastern Conference rival though, so I wouldn't count on it.

Do we want Hayward? Not really. Do we take him if he is packaged with a couple 1st round picks? quite possibly.

I think it’s important to note that even though his time in Boston hasn’t been great, he’s still only played 125 games over the past three seasons with most of those (72) coming during the tumultuous season with Kyrie at the helm. With their rotating cast and coming off injuries, I think it’s been extremely difficult for him to find his consistent role within the team and get into a groove.
I think KP is a Captain Planet fan. He believes that the collective will of five decent starters can outweigh the power of top-level talent. Too bad Herb won't cut the check for their Planeteer rings.

I read one Boston paper say that the Cs are thinking of moving on from Stevens (I don't buy that) and this could be a package deal. If this is the case, it could be Hayward, Stevens and Vic, Doug and Leaf as a throw in or something like that. Might have to do a 2nd rounder or something for the coach trade not sure how that all works out.

No way his next contract will be anywhere near that. Maybe in the 18 range.

Yea... in this instance I would take on Gordon. It won't happen though.

If it was Myles/Filler for Gordon straight up no first round picks I would do it. He is a good player in the proverbial scenario where the Boston Celtics wish that they could play with two basketballs. No he is probably not going to be 26 year old Utah Jazz Gordon Hayward anymore, but if he is going to succeed anywhere it would be here imo. Hayward probably has 3-4 good years left in him. Higher than usual likelihood of being able to re-sign him if he can play well for us.

In this hypothetical and perhaps unlikely scenario, would we have Gordon Haywards bird rights??

Nothing against Gordon, I really like his game , I read prior to injury he was one of only two players in the NBA (KAT is the other ) that shot 50% or more down low, and I think 35% from deep something like that

That being said, I dont think he fits our timeline(age) and also, after PG, then Dipo, do we really want to bring in a guy thats had injury problems?
