How about when he played center in the finals (rookie season, I think?) when Kareem was injured?

While the premise of the DPE is in good faith to small market teams, it really doesn't change anything. The player still has to agree to it. And while the money is huge, it will only hinder the team as well as the max salary contract does. 1/3 of team salary cap is just to much. For exampl, CJ should not be making 30mil per year and it shouldn't be an option. Step Curry should not be making 10mil. It makes no sense and creates huge imbalance in the league. I have some good ideas to fix this crap of a cba, but it would never happen.

Sounds like you want to drop the max on non-DPE players to 25% or something. To this day, I still can't stomach paying Paul George that much 💰 even if he did qualify. If we thought we had problems building a team now, imagine what it could have been like with that salary on the books.

He was still shooting like 37% before that lol. Averaged over 20 PPG because of the insane shot volume.

Kobe's my favorite non-Pacer ever, but the last couple years were just a "screw it, I'm still gonna shoot like its the 2009 playoffs" show from him.

I understand that, but that's an awfully greedy position considering the risk of PG changing his mind is very real IMO and is something that Magic never really considered.

It's more than greedy, it's stupid and the Pacers can get the most assets while screwing over the Lakers.

I actually doubt it.

Lebron's game is depended so much upon his athleticism, that he's not going to last nearly as long as Kobe did. Granted, if he's on a significantly better team, he might look better...

I know it doesn't look like it, but I just have this hunch that LeBron is going to retire out of nowhere whenever he does. I don't think he'll allow his game to drop off, and I think he'll hang it up before people expect him to and leave 2-3 years of potential playing time on the table. The minutes he plays are going to catch up to him, and he's going to know it way before anyone else does.

I know you guys were killing Grimp earlier - but a S&T Teague, PG for Wiggins, Rubio, More Salary Dump for TWolves deal would work out well for both teams. TWolves could compete with the Warriors to an extent with:

w/ Muhammad & Dieng off the bench for the playoffs. That "Free Agent PF" could also be Thad Young for future picks involved in the deal as we take on some bad contracts for them.

I see - with our cap room though we could take Rubio & Wiggins (and other guys they want out for cap purposes) for PG & Thad - IF they have a deal in place once Rubio is out for Teague or Lowry or another PG. I don't think thats a bad deal for the TWolves. I think they compete with the Warriors. Especially if they somehow got Lowry and PG.
