Yup. Centered around Porzingis. If they can somehow nab him abd keep Booker, thats much better than grabbing a vet thats only going to be there for a short time

Melo is most likely HOF'er. Not sure how thats a bad thing.

I truly believe if Lebron James was born anywhere else in the United States, the Cavs might not even still be in Cleveland.

Exactly. IF Lebron is leaving and the house is burning down, you've got one last run. Paul George has no power to say he "won't play there".

Well he's already proven to be a complete prima Donna regardless of how this turns out.

The best in this league like Lebron and Durant are way too wise to have ever tried to hold a franchise hostage when free agency was just a year away. It's a bad look. Sure no one likes to lose a player for nothing, but a demand like this completely consumes the franchise and holds it hostage.

The franchise should generally take the high road - let him use the practice facilities, practice with the team even, whatever. Honestly I doubt the players would really care that much. They all know its a business and these things happen especially with star players. If he wants, let him go back and work out in LA.

It would be a nightmare letting PG play for the Pacers next year. He'd get booed out of the building every game. Fans would be vindictive and bitter. Families like to take their kids to Pacers games, couples like to go on dates to Pacer games. No one is gonna want to attempt to have a good time in a crappy environment where the star player is hated.
It would be a nightmare having PG around the franchise next year. Not good for our young players at all. You wanna talk about building a bad culture, that's pretty much the start.

Everyone gets in the HOF these days. Tracy McGrady got in & you should see next year's list. Jason Kidd is on it & he's a HOF but the other names are not. Wish I could find the list but yea Melo will get in, PG is probably a HOF too in today's world.

When I think of HOF I think Bird, Jordan, Magic, Duncan, Kobe, Reggie, etc. Players today that should get in: Dirk, LeBron ummmm

Regardless, his career from about age 29 onward has been nothing short of a complete disaster. He hinged his prime years on a demand to NY. It failed miserably by any objective definition of success. Just a complete unmitigated disaster that has made him completely irrelevant for 4 straight seasons with no end in sight.

If you accomplish nothing of note in your 30's after being successful in your 20's, then you had a very disappointing second act of your career.

Melo has a pretty impressive Olympic resume, so I can accept him getting in. A lot of stats in the NBA, but absolutely zero to show for it in terms of team success. Won't surprise me if he makes it, but I wouldn't vote him first ballot. He's gotta wait.
It's a new day for Pacers Basketball.

It's not a bad thing individually. Also Melo is probably the greatest international player in USA history.

Unless Ingram and #2 completely bust, Paul should be relatively more successful in LA. If Lebron goes there then he has a shot to really be successful.

But if he goes to LA and has a bunch of 36-44 win seasons, then that would be a bit disappointing.

Its just hard for me to call a HOF career, disappointing. As long as he continues on his current path, he's well on his way

Makes you wonder how different his career would be if he played with other great players

I will pretty much only be upset with Pritchard if he does not trade PG. Otherwise at this point I'm willing to let him move him and then rebuild the team. I just do not want this cloud around the franchise. Cramping Turner's growth and any other young guys we obtain. Just get it over with.

Probably different. But Melo pretty much ****ed himself. He thought people would join him in NY and then Bron and others pretty much said "Nah, fam". PG better hope he doesn't end up holding the same bag next summer.

If the pacers tried to use that rumor as some type of leverage to screw Paul over, I don't think it would go over well.

Not to mention, the Pacers aren't that kind of confrontational, hardball type of franchise IMO. This will be Ron Arrest and JO all over again. Get a decent package for the superstar, and move on.

Having Paul remain here a year is just wasting everyone's time and causing a year long media circus for Paul, the other players, and the rest of the franchise.
I'm going off Woj report saying PG said he wouldn't play a year in Cleveland. If he is doing that and the only trade we can get is crap from LA, you Tinsley him and present a tampering case.
