I would be happy with Tins if he goes home this summer and learns to hit his jumper. Parker has the same problem as well. Tins is a better passer than Parker, so i think it would be easier for him to keep everyone happy.

Jay was perfectly articulated my ongoing concerns with Tinsley. It's not the injuries. It's not that he can't be a fantastic scorer much of the time. It's that we can't count on him to score when it really counts.

I think Jamaal is a clutch player. I really do. I just don't think he has a reliable shot. Is that going to change? I have serious doubts.

What about Eric Snow? I've always liked him. I think we could get him for Tinsley (and maybe we could get another player, too.) This would be the classic scenario where the player is not as good as Tinsley, but his type of game makes our team better.

I'd be all-for Eric Snow, about five seasons ago. Not now.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

I'd still take him. He doesn't have the skills he used to, but he's still a heady player, genius bball-IQ, and still a good defender. Not to mention he's a low-key, veteran leader whose demeanor this team needs desperately.

That said, his contract is pretty bad.

What the are you talking about? He's 43% on his career. Granted, he's not a 3pt shooter, but I don't put the emphasis on that others do.

that is a distortion of the facts and any knowledgeable individual would recognize that....

he has zero range...zero...he passes up wide open shots because he simply cant make them....and he got plenty when in philly with AI...

i would venture that close to half of his fga are layups...he simply refuses to shoot....because he cant hit water if he falls out of a boat....and its a well known fact...

as far as career percentages go hes a 22 percent shooter from 3 point range...which should start to say something....hes a career 43 percent shooter shooting wide open 12-15 footers and layups...thats no accomplishment....especially when u consider what defenses are able to do since they refuse to guard him....

"UB, would you give up Ron (+ Jamaal) for Kidd? I'm not starting a rumor, I just want to know, when he says, I'd kill to get Kidd, if he means it?"

Uh, trade Artest over my dead body. See I'd rather kill someone else then be killed myself.
I would not trade Ron and JT for Kidd. Kidd is not as young as he used to be

You wouldnt trade them to get a proven leader who has taken his team to the finals twice, farther than Ron Artest will ever lead a team.

Kidd has proven he can lead to the finals and be a franchise player. You don't think Kidd and JO would work better than Artest and JO?

What exactly is it that you see in Artest that would keep you from trading him for a superstar?

Artest is at best, a talented as hell player that can play defense and score, but doesnt have the mental ability to be a leader of a team, and is always a distraction.

Sometimes I think that if the Pacers could trade Ron straight up for Lebron or Duncan, that half of this board would reject it.

What about Mighty Mouse (Damon Stoudamire)?

Two guys that I would love to replace AJ with are Damon or Nick Van Exel from Portland. I'm sure the Blazers would love to trade either one of them and they both are clutch and can create their own shot. AJ is a much better defender but those two are my ideal back up PG.

The amazing thing is that Tinsley does not do things that normally get players injured. (neither did Reggie) he does not jump, he does not go inside against the big guys
I have seen too many games where Tinsley drove for the basket and run into a bunch of XXXXL jerseys and lands on his foot/ankle/leg the wrong way. How many times have we seen Tinsley holding his ankle on the floor after he gets flattened by a wall of guys?

Too many for my liking. I think his style of play does affect the injuries that he gets.

What are your thoughts on Rafer Alston?

I brought it up on RealGM and it got shot down quickly. I think he maybe attainable considering his relationship with management in Toronto and Tinsley is involved. There are negatives cuz of his attitude.....but there are positives as he is a score-first PG who can hit the outside shot and is relatively healthy. Problem is that I have no idea what his defense is like.
