Re: 2017 NBA TRADE DEADLINE RUMORS/TRADES
So um, Derrick Rose is supposedly available. Anyone interested? I really am not personally. He's one injury away from doom. But want to see what you guys think. This also leads to a bigger topic. If the Knicks blow it up who would you want outside of Melo or Porzingis? I might have interest in Justin Holiday.Comment

Aim lower.....we're likely to hit some of the quality lower hanging fruit that would fit around Teague, Myles and ( if he's still here ) PG13 via trade or Free Agency.Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.Comment

Re: 2017 NBA TRADE DEADLINE RUMORS/TRADES
I guess Reggie's value is **** if that is what they are getting for him
The Pistons and Magic have discussed a trade that would send Reggie Jackson to Orlando for D.J. Augustin and Jeff Green, league sources say.

He's signed to a 4 year $27m deal, which would be cheap (especially compared to Solo LOL) if he can regain his previous form.Comment

Not yet clear if talks go past the "discussion" phase but Detroit, as @ZachLowe_NBA noted this week, has been exploring its Reggie options.

Re: 2017 NBA TRADE DEADLINE RUMORS/TRADES
We're offering a Near MAX or ( likely ) MAX contract offer to Teague as our future Starting PG. DRose is injury prone and ( before you say it ) NO he will not be coming off the bench for the amount of $$$ he is owed.
Aim lower.....we're likely to hit some of the quality lower hanging fruit that would fit around Teague, Myles and ( if he's still here ) PG13 via trade or Free Agency.
D. Rose aside I kind of think Larry has to aim higher now. Paul seems to be hesitant about staying put if Larry can't put a contender together. But what big name is available this deadline? Blake is off the table, Melo has a NTC, Cousins wants to retire a King (so he says), Bulls seem to wanna keep Jimmy, I am not sure about Hayward and the Jazz. But for now it seems they aren't gonna trade him. There just aren't any big names available.Comment

Re: 2017 NBA TRADE DEADLINE RUMORS/TRADES
This team is a dysfunctional mess and is incredibly poorly built. Every night they're getting lit up by 3 point shooters because the guys over help and they are definitely not long enough to be able to do that consistently well. There are three plus 3 point to shooters in the rotation, GRIII, Miles, and PG. I don't consider Teague, Turner, or Young pure shooters despite their good % on lower attempts compared to the rest. Al Jefferson has been great in his role, but honestly his role sucks. He is a defensive liability at this point and I would have rather picked up some athletic C for the fraction of the price last off season. Watching Ellis and Stuckey help then scramble back to contest a 3 point to shot only to see them shoot over those 2 is hard to watch. I don't think it's really much fault of their own. In the right roles they'd excel but right now it's just a cluster**** of mediocrity. Allen and Seraphin are good backups but there's so much redundancy that even their effective is hindered. I've been saying it for years and I'll keep on saying it. I just want to see some more 3 and D players on this team. I'm optimistic about Bentil because he's a nice change of pace compared to the current crop of 4s on the team but I doubt he'll ever wear a Pacers jersey. Bird is the one not adapting to the league (or he has but the Pacers are unlucky in acquiring the right personell). Teague and Turner have been great moves and Young was a good pickup but he wasted nearly $30 million on the trio of Ellis, Stuckey, and Jefferson.Comment

Re: 2017 NBA TRADE DEADLINE RUMORS/TRADES
I am really intrigued about what is going to happen in the next few days with this team. I KNOW Larry will make a trade. But the question is what direction will he go in? Will the acquired player be a win now player (late 20's/early 30's)? A win now and later player (mid 20's)? Or a win much later player (very early 20's)?Comment

Although I am sure that Bird is a "Buyer" in the market....he doesn't have much $$$$ to spend. The Pacers appear to be more of a "Seller" ( see AlJeff, Monta or any of the UFA like CJ or Team Option Players like Lavoy ).
IMHO....unless there is a trade that makes total sense and is a total no-brainer...Bird is more of a guy that likes to make major changes during the offseason and not during the Trade Deadline. At most, I'd expect a minor trade for someone that may help us off the bench.Last edited by CableKC; 02-17-2017, 07:35 PM.Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.Comment

You know...u say the same thing every year at this time....you know that Bird will make a trade....and where do we end up? the same place as always.....nowhere.

We're in a totally different scenario from last season though. EXTREMELY different.Comment
