As we've seen countless times, nobody is untradable. For as much **** as Roy gets on this forum, he's still a bonafide starting C with elite rim protection capabilities, and is a large expiring contract going into a great year for FA. I don't think he's as untradable as some assume.

I also don't think he's as done here as some assume either. Larry himself said that he expects Roy to be back next season.

Just like some posters "knew" Frank had lost the team and wouldn't be back as HC after the 2014 season. What we "know" would fill a thimble and that's about it.

Re: Stanko coming to mini camp

I'm glad Stanko is coming is coming in for mini camp, if for no other reason than I love his name. I have a dream of Stanko just posterizing the living hell out of Mike Dunleavy, leading to #gettingstanked trending on twitter.

Like my first post indicated, I can't wait until Larry choice of food is yet another clue in the mile long list of how he's done with Roy. Stanko is the overreaction, you know, the topic.
Im not saying Stanko is replacing Roy. But in a thread about Stanko coming over, I don't see why it's so ridiculous for a poster to discuss Roy falling out of the rotation.

Roy has been benched for Lavoy/Ian/Scola and taken out of rotation. Why so disgusted at anyone mentioning bringing over Stanko might affect Roy?

I agree with the first part of your statement, however, I disagree with your second part. While it is not 100% certain, I think Roy is pretty much done here. I think that would be in his best interest and probably the Pacers best interest as well for him to move on.

If we draft a center and sign Stanko, then is it okay to discuss it affecting Roy or no?

This struck me as odd, it felt like you were the main one trying to turn this into a Roy thread.

I think the problem with trading Hibbert this summer is a simple one. Anything that anyone will offer us in return for Hibbert will be less valuable to the Pacers than either

1.) Getting Hibbert off the books next year and having the cap room to shape the team how we like in free agency, or
2.) Having Hibbert revert to form and be part of a really good team next year.

If we did trade Hibbert, it would have to address both of the above, I.E. a combination of player(s) or picks that would help us compete next year without hamstringing our salary cap for future years.

A guy starting is out of the rotation now? I guess it depends on your definition of the word "out" because clearly Roy was still very much apart of the rotation.

It's absolutely amazing how little others know compared to you. You can't stand a poster disagreeing with you as you see yourself as always right.

You're right there. If you play at all you are still in the rotation so I should have been more specific to say he was benched mid game several times.

But that's not the point. The point is, it's perfectly reasonable for someone to think Stanko could compete with Roy for playing time if signed when we know Roy has already lost playing time to Ian/Scola/Lavoy.

Bird said himself that Roy isn't guaranteed anything, so why are we to assume that Roy's playing time isn't threatened by another 7 footer?

"If he comes back we're probably going to play another style and I can't guarantee him anything," Bird said. "He's going to have to earn it."

If we sign ANY 7 footer, it's almost a guarantee that he will at some point take minutes from Roy if Hib is still on the team.
