I agree, but I wonder if other teams were pursuing Miles and the 4th year is what set us apart. Given his skillset and when he was signed I doubt this was the case, but you never really know.

Thunder. And yes, the contract terms barely set us apart from them.

If it took four years to get him, then I wish we would have passed. I'd rather have AJ Price on the team. At least we wouldn't have the long commitment.

            Interesting comparison between the two.

            AJ was having a career year while here. Career-high fg% of 43.8%, 3pt% 38.5%, TS% 54.2%.

Compare those numbers to CJ Miles numbers from last year fg% 43.5% 3p% 39.3%, TS% 56.9%

I get the response is probably about contract amount/length, but $4M contracts aren't anything to worry over. Yeah, AJ doesn't have the long commitment, but he also doesn't fill a need. CJ, with the way he's playing right now, looks like a horrible horrible horrible signing. But that's not the CJ Miles of the past 7 seasons.

I don't really have a problem with the deal. He might have a rough stretch, or even year, but I'll take him as a streaky backup 2 next year all day.

Being streaky on the bench is a whole other story when you aren't starting.
