What Are Your Top 3 Guilty Pleasure Movies?

OK, you know you have them. They are the movies that have been playing on Cable non-stop for 5 years straight - and every time you come across them you stop and watch from 30 minutes in all the way to the end. EVERY TIME.

They're the Guilty Pleasure Movies. They can doom you all. They are movies you would be embarrassed to tell your friends that you liked, but you like them anyway.

I'll get things rolling with my current top 3:

    3) The Day After Tomorrow. Oh my god! The weather is coming to get us!

    2) Dodgeball. "The NCC's! No Doi!"

    1) The Chronicles of Riddick. This movie puts the dumb in dumbass. And I have it memorized.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” - Winston Churchill

“If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to serve as a horrible warning.” - Catherine Aird

    1) Transformers: the Movie

I'm talking about the 1986 original animated movie, not the current Bayformers flick. I was a HUGE TF fan as a kid, and this film was so substantially better than the TV show it was jaw-dropping. Awesome animation. Kickin' 80's soundtrack. Weird Al Yankovic. Orson Wells. Leonard Nimoy. And they killed Transformers, something that had not been done in the TV series. Ironhide, Prowl...even Optimus friggin' Prime. I cried. Until Starscream bit it. Then I cheered.

    2) Mortal Kombat

The first movie, not the dreadful sequel. Again, I was a huge MK fan at the time, but even in retrospect it's a decent film. I'm still holding out hope that the long-delayed third film with the original cast will still materialize.

    3) Toy Story

I have probably seen this movie more than any person on Earth. I liked it so much that, despite having to watch it continuously at work every day for two months due to a company promotion, I still bought it, and saw the sequel twice on release day in the theater (and it was the busiest that I have ever seen a movie theater, ever).

I have to think about this...guilty pleasures.

I hate limiting to three, but:

Flash Gordon = (He'llsaveeveryoneofus). 1980...craptacular with one of the Bonds (the bad one) playing Prince Baron

The Quick and the Dead - Sharon Stone, Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gene Hackman...I got no explanation.

So I Married an Axe Murderer - Primarily for three things: The Soundtrack, the Anthony LaPaglia 70's cop wannabe riffs with Alan Arkin and Charles Grodin, and

Stuart Mackenzie: Look at the size of that boy's heed.
      Tony Giardino: Shhh!
Stuart Mackenzie: I'm not kidding, it's like an orange on a toothpick.
Tony Giardino: Shhh, you're going to give the boy a complex.
Stuart Mackenzie: Well, that's a huge noggin. That's a virtual planetoid.
      Tony Giardino: Shh!
Stuart Mackenzie: Has it's own weather system.
      Tony Giardino: Sh, sh, shh.
      Stuart Mackenzie: HEAD! MOVE!
Stuart Mackenzie: I'm not kidding, that boy's head is like Sputnik; spherical but quite pointy at parts! Now that was offside, wasn't it? He'll be crying himself to sleep tonight, on his huge pillow.
      ....

      Stuart Mackenzie: HEED! PANTS! NOW!

I love the Tremors series, just love it. I also admire Tarantino's Death Proof even though so many people really hated it.

Like Shade, I also really like Toy Story. It is probably one of the three animated movies I have and the other two are Cannes Film Festival type films in French.

I don't know why I like Toy Story so much, just can't put my finger on it. But I probably watch it at least once every few months.

And FWIW, I've never even attempted to watch the second one.

Cruel Intentions - pretty people doing mean things... as close as I get to watching soaps, I guess

Lost Boys - seeing as I was like 10 when I first saw this, it probably did bad things for my psychosexual development

Hackers - largely due to a huge crush on Angelina Jolie and my fondness for geek culture
Dean Winchester: It takes two to... you know, have hardcore sex.

Where have you been, anyway? You should start your advice column again, it was good reading.

Of course, there's the whole Sara Michelle Gellar/Selma Blair scene

Lost Boys - seeing as I was like 10 when I first saw this,
Great movie...the Corey's at their peak

it probably did bad things for my psychosexual development
But, now...I can never watch it again.

Yes, this movie and a crappy one called "Foxfire" were where I first noticed Angelina.

(BTW...Idle Hands is a nice guilty pleasure, with a great riff by Seth Green and Elden Henson as his murdered friends, and it was the first time I ever saw Jessica Alba...looking awfully hot and just illegal enough to make me uncomfortable about it.

Let's see... I got fired, got married, got diabetes, and have mostly been drifting and trying to figure out what to do next. I'm waiting for my man to become a sugar daddy, but he's taking his sweet time. Bah.

Man, I barely remember that advice column. How long ago was that?

Ah yes, Foxfire. Featuring a topless Angelina Jolie. I've only seen that one once, though.

I laughed so hard when I first saw that part.

                              My guilty pleasures...

                              3. The Core - Good actors that somehow got suckered into making a steaming turd of a movie with the most implausible plot possible. How they got Hilary Swank to agree to be in this I'll never know. We took my father in law to see it at the theater. He's deaf but he LOVES going to action movies because he can feel the sound system during the special effects. For whatever reason this one has stuck with me and anytime I catch it on cable I finish it.

                              2. Batman The Movie (the old one) - Nothing will ever top Batman getting dipped in the water by Robin while dangling from the Batcopter, coming out with a great white shark hanging from his leg, then calmly dispatching it with the Bat Shark Repellent conveniently kept in the Bat Utility Belt. Try as I might, I can't flip the channel.

                              1. Back to School - At work, whenever someone asks us to do an impossible task we tell each other we're gonna do the Triple Linding. Tons of great jokes in this movie, and Sam Kinison kills.
