He would be a hell of a talent to acquire. The only thing I would be worried about is his recent injuries

Richardson did look pretty good. But at least with Lamar we would know what we are getting. Do the Colts or Ballard have time for a potential project QB?

I'm fine with Richardson but damn I want to see the Colts win now too! They have arguably the top RB in the game, can't waste him waiting for a young QB to develop.

Well if he wants his career to die sure.

              I doubt that though.

I'd be fine with trading Taylor while (I assume) his trade value is still high. I think RB's are a dime a dozen in the modern NFL. Even a great RB can be replaced as long as you have a line and a respectable QB. Taylor's already had a couple of good years. When does the decline start? It's not like the Colts are a complete team with a great RB too. They are a weak team, and having a great RB is IMO a waste right now. As long as he's traded for pieces the team needs.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

i dont see any other team realistically making a play on Lamar. as mentioned above, lamar could have played in the playoffs, inj's little concerning but this dude is a freak. my only concern is i dont want to give up the #4 pick this year, in fact i think 2 firsts for lamar is steep, next years 1st, this years 2nd, and maybe an extra 3rd.

word around the campfire is not many GM's will pony up the guaranteed. ravens offered 175 million guaranteed. i dont know. not desparate to make that move, pro's and cons. i think Richardson could be a beast.

Jackson would only be worth it if we got deep playoff runs out of it, and I'd be skeptical of that happening. I think it's very legitimate to wonder if we've already seen his best.

I just want to develop a rookie from scratch at this point. Live with the growing pains and hopefully ace future draft picks down the road to fill out the roster. But honestly the division is so weak that we could maybe be competitive quicker than people might think if we can find someone who can play the position halfway competently.

Richardson absolutely will be a project. in two years from now, maybe even next season, he could be the obvious #1 pick, or he could become a third rounder. Im not sure ballard has the time, but irsay has given him quite a bit of leash here. if were not landing Stroud or Young, the rest of these guys will have to redshirt at least one season. I dont think Levis is ready at all, and Hooker is at least a year a way right with injury?

no doubt about it, Jackson is the proven commodity. he is bird in hand over two in the bush.

whats the best you can get for Taylor? a third? maybe a late 2nd, you said it yourself, teams do not value running backs, there is the rare exception, but considering contract, etc, a 2nd would be about the best could fetch for Taylor. especially after a down year last season. maybe after the initial explosion last year we get a first, but dont see it as probable after the down year.

you obviously bring up great points, i think just to play devils advocate here, once could wonder if we have yet to see lamars' best. i dont think he has been happy in baltimore the last two seasons. inj's would be the main sticking point for me, can we get 12 games consistently each season. i dont think its worth giving up the #4 pick. i think lamar is worth maybe next years first and maybe a late add pick somewhere.

the other team reportedly interested in lamar is NE. how much of that is legit and not a smokescreen is anyones guess. I think the colts are really the only team in true contention for lamar's services other than obviously baltimore.

adding lamar, and keeping the #4 pick, i think puts us in the discussion of contender status. KC, Buffalo, even Cincy, all those teams have holes, the Jets with AR will be a beast.

Buffalo, Miami, NE, Jets, KC, Denver (Payton), LAC, Cincy are the teams in the hunt.

Tennesee, Houston, prob could add Jax to the above, pitts, balt - without lamar, browns (wildcard), raiders are all teams still missing key pieces.

The colts have a good/great D. adding lamar would make things very interesting.
