^^ Rumor has it as a torn Achilles. Bummer for him, but the Colts can dig up another punter somewhere.

Yeah and while that really sucks my first thought was his cancer returned which would've been far worse obviously.

Kelly out with Covid 19, Sanchez out with a torn Achilles.
Nuntius was right for a while. I was wrong for a while. But ultimately I was right and Frank Vogel has been let go.

I'd like to see them start the season with a winning record after 5 games. Even better, a winning record after 1 game. Not 2-3, not 1-4... and just to feel a little comfort in that regard, not 0-1. It would be nice to just have each game matter as a game, but not feel like the season could be derailed with just one more loss.

So, gimme 4-1, or 3-2... or hey, I'll just be greedy and ask for 5-0.

I read that the Colts have not won an opening game since 2013.

So it's Texans, Jags (both on the road), and then Chiefs and Titans at home before heading to Bronco-land.
Leonard is officially OUT for game 1.

Surely, the Colts can come out of that stretch with a winning record and not in a hole to start the season. In theory, the two toughest opponents are at Indy. Indy lost to the Jags last year and everyone knows that, but some QB leadership and revenge should stop that from happening again.
                  I hope...

                    Unfortunately, that is correct.

1-9 in season openers in last decade. Last win was 2013.

And they barely won that game too.. I was at the 2018 season opener vs the Bengals so I saw that loss in person.

Really need to start out 2-0 with that KC game in Week 3.

Road games in Houston and Jacksonville certainly won't be easy.

True it's never easy, but if you can't come out and win these first two it's likely going to be more of the same from last couple years. One of the reasons there's optimism around Colts having good record (as usual) is our cream-puff division. So if we aspire to be more than a borderline playoff team again, gotta take care of these two bottom dwellers. Personally, anything other than 2-0 to start and Reich's seat is starting to to get a tad warm.

As far as prediction, I can see 12-5. That would be the ceiling. 10-7 is floor. Anything worse than that and it will count as an utter disappointment with Reich needing run out of town. And that would mean that Ryan couldn't at least produce on a River's level from two years ago.

Something I'm kind of interested to watch. While there's a lot of warm and fuzzy feeling circulating about Matty Ice still having a few good years in the tank, I'm not convinced this isn't essentially the Rivers blueprint reboot, but hopefully with an improved D, especially pass rush. Another key area that deserves watching. Even with Taylor, I still wouldn't characterize the entire offense as explosive. Could develop, but would be an everything going right scenario. So the defense will have to be better and have to win us some games I think.
