Re: Born Ready... not
You got to be kidding me right. Lance has shown some definite talent and shown he can be our starting pg. Someone please tell me truthfully that you watched the game and tell me that AJ or Collison did better then him. Lance has played like what 7 or 8 games? He has the talent to score when he wants and can get by anyone when he wants to. Collison and Price can't do that. Lance is a big guy who can bull his way in the lane and set someone up for a shot or take it himself. Mark my words...next year him and Paul will be great together when we get a good coach in here who knows his offense and knows how to teach defense at all. IMO George just needs to have plays run for him but at the same time I don't know if he is ready. Next year I think he will be after training camp. I know everyone is depressed rightnow and not liking what we see, including me, but looking towards the future we have George, Lance, Collison, Hibbert, and Hansbrough to look forward to making a team around. IMO that is a good start.Comment

Re: Born Ready... not
He's shown he has talent but he's definitely not 'Born Ready'. Wouldn't part of it be the normal NBA adjustment period where before they were the biggest, fastest, and most talented (esp in HS) on the court and now they're one of many big dogs? I hope so. At the very least he obviously loves basketball and cares about his play.Comment

Re: Born Ready... not
Vogel has nothing to lose, he will only be the head coach next season if the Pacers upset Chi/Bos in the playoffs. They don't have a single player on the bench that can guard Rondo or D Rose. Why not play Lance Stephenson? Lance is bigger and stronger than Collison and Price is a scorer on the second unit.
I am not annointing him the G.O.A.T but the Pacers need to do something. Last night was a ticket redemption night for season tickets holders and the Fieldhouse wasn't even half full.Comment

Re: Born Ready... not
I will absolutely tell you that AJ did better, because even though he played like garbage on offense, he at least showed a willingness to defend.Comment

Re: Born Ready... not
I am a fan of point guards that pass the ball; AJ Price does not pass the ball. He is a shoot first guard and a streaky shoooter at that. It is very hard for me to gauge defense when Philly is up ten early and Iggy is exposing Granger all game. Collison played little to no defense last night for sure.Comment

Re: Born Ready... not
Stephenson is killing us when he is on the court. He is a turnover machine, he pounds the ball too much, he rubs the veterans the wrong way, and he is out of position on defense every possession. He should have been playing in the D-league this season for an attitude adjustment. I cannot believe we have had him sitting on the end of the bench in a suit the whole season with legal case pending... He should have been using this time in the D-league refining his game, getting his attitude in check, and learning to be humble... I was anxious to see how he did, but I am thoroughly disappointed in his approach to the game.
With all the flashes of greatness, there are a lot of rough edges that need to be smoothed out before he sees any more PT in my opinion...
Defense: AJ+1, Collision 0, Lance 0
Distributing: AJ 0, Collision 0, Lance+1
Total: AJ+2, Collison+1, Lance+2
Play AJ and Lance. Sit Collison"Look, it's up to me to put a team around ... Lance right now." —Kevin Pritchard press conference

Re: Born Ready... not
I think if we want Lance to grow up, he needs some more "humble pie" At this point, his development needs to resolve around his mentality far more than his game.Comment

Re: Born Ready... not
Did the play where he turned around after getting burned for a score and they inbounded the ball to him as he pouted the ball was stolen for an easy layup count as a turnover for him???"A winner is someone who recognizes their God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals." - Larry BirdComment
