    Born Ready... not

Stephenson is killing us when he is on the court. He is a turnover machine, he pounds the ball too much, he rubs the veterans the wrong way, and he is out of position on defense every possession. He should have been playing in the D-league this season for an attitude adjustment. I cannot believe we have had him sitting on the end of the bench in a suit the whole season with legal case pending... He should have been using this time in the D-league refining his game, getting his attitude in check, and learning to be humble... I was anxious to see how he did, but I am thoroughly disappointed in his approach to the game.

With all the flashes of greatness, there are a lot of rough edges that need to be smoothed out before he sees any more PT in my opinion...

A 2nd round one-and-doner with rough edges? Who would have thought?

In other words, he is a rookie two years out of high school.

I understand he is a second round pick... I guess my point is that a lot of people on the boards are ready to anoint him the next great big PG... I just don't see it... I also saw someone who thought he should start over DC...

That was the reasoning behind my post, people are overestimating what he brings to the table at this point in his career.

You are also backing my point that he is a second round pick with rough edges 2 years removed from HS... Precisely why he should have been playing in the D-League logging minutes instead of being parked on the bench...

lance has a killer instinct that few players on this team has. Of course he is going to get turnovers he hasn't even played in 10 games yet. He gets to the basket easier than any of our other pgs, he passes better maybe defense not so good but thats something he can improve on. I watched him 2 night and after a turnover he gave up he put his hands on his head in disbelief. That shows he knows he messed up and doesnt take it lightly

i was thinking the same thing you are, iu sears, but then it is hard to discount the enthusiasm of larry bird AND mark boyle - mark boyle i find is and always has been a "tell it like it is" kind of guy.

Apparently you didn't read the "Lance as pg" thread...

So a 2nd round pick rookie has one game out of... what? 4/5 games where he's actually hurting the team and after that one time you have to make a thread to try and *** on him?......and despite not knowing at all what's going on inside the pacers team you can some how make comments about his attitude?...

Have you watched any D-League games? Playing in the D-League would of done nothing to change his game, a whole lot of ball dominating goes on.

If he doesn't start for the Pacers at some point in his career, he'll start somewhere else. Mark my words. Almost everyone played like *** tonight, so relax.

He looks pretty good to me. Just doesn't have it going on upstairs all the time.

Beyond his potential development, he's a good test for the club. The NBA has too many primadonna, immature, mentally vacant ballers to try and field the all-choir team. The coaching staff and management needs to know how to handle guys like this.

Lance needs to cut down on some of the flash, and just play basketball.

He could be a good player, but gets ahead of himself quite often, and is a little too showy at time
