to get me excited about the Pacers again? I don't know what it is exactly, I realize these aren't great teams that we beat. But, I feel a little more positive going into games now. Is it just because shots are starting to fall more often? Is it better D? Is it Flip Murray? Maybe it's combo of alot of things. I don't think were going to make alot of noise in the post-season, provided we make it. I'm just saying I feel more confident about us going into games now and I don't think it's just a "high" from winning a few, I feel like we have turned a corner. Sorry if this is a monotonous post but it feels damn good to be excited again.

Re: Why did it only take 4 wins in a row....
There is nothing good about losing. No silver lining at all. But there is so much good about winning that mitigating factors can never tarnish it. There is no shame in beating teams, even if they are teams you ought to beat. These have been good wins.
These wins are good for the team. The players who stay on the roster are going to gain something from this week that will carry into next year.
The Pacers are actually a pretty well-coached team. They are one of the weaker teams in the NBA simply because of talent. They need better players. But they do a pretty good job of playing up to their potential. And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me

Re: Why did it only take 4 wins in a row....
Our best players are Dunleavy and Granger who are maturing. Diener and Flip are adding contributions. Harrison is actually playing pretty well. Murphy is stepping his game up. It's just a combination of things. The team is learning how to play without JO and Tinsley. Also, the schedule of course is a big part of it too.
If we cannot get a #7 or #8 seed, I certainly want us to make the playoffs now. If so, I do hope JO returns to help provide at least some defensive help....Comment

Re: Why did it only take 4 wins in a row....
I'm at the point where I'd rather get a lottery pick than get killed by Boston in the first round. I don't really see how that helps our young players, or our team at all.
What is comforting however, is that I am pretty confident that appropriate changes will be made in the offseason. In fact, if they don't, I can't even tell you how mad I will be. The idea that the right changes will be made, compounded by the fact that we're merely a mediocre-below average team when our talent level rivals with the worst two or three teams in the league, gives me the idea that the team is well coached. Once the front office is sorted out and some moves are made, I think we'll be alright.Comment

Re: Why did it only take 4 wins in a row....
I hate to be the rain on the current sunshine parade, but we've beaten four bad teams. I completely expected us to make a run at the playoffs, destroying our draft position, and still firmly believe it will be a 4-and-out if we snag the #8 seed.
Now, don't get me wrong. If we start beating some good teams and gaining momentum heading into the playoffs, I'll be excited. But I just have a feeling this is all fool's gold that will end up costing us a good player in the draft.Comment

If PAcers play Boston in the first round. ..they are gonna play hard. WHY, cause this team always plays hard when they face contenders. If it's a sweep, it won't be an easy sweep IMOR.I.P. Bernic Mac & Isaac HayesComment

Murphy's avg 16.8 and 8.2 ... since all-star break. Doesn't seem so overpaid now. Shooting pct is way up also. Flip has made a difference with his penetration. If JO plays with the second unit for a couple weeks I could see us being real solid and making the 8th seed. A couple playoff games would help the franchise financially. Who knows maybe we even get a third."He wanted to get to that money time. Time when the hardware was on the table. That's when Roger was going to show up. So all we needed to do was stay close"

Re: Why did it only take 4 wins in a row....
Winning feels good. It's that simple. Beyond that, do I think we've turned a corner? No because we were always playing hard and we're playing the same way we were a week or two ago. Now what does excite me a little bit is the thought of a (finally) healthy JO playing defense for the Indiana Pacers.Comment
