    Tyrese Haliburton has regressed

Went from 20.4ppg on 48.3%, 10.65apg to 16.7ppg on 40.8%, 8.3apg. The regression didn't start this season, it started last season after the all-star break.
We had all hoped that Hali will be the next Paul George, but he's on track to be the next Danny Granger.
I'm fine with him being our 3rd best player behind Siakam and Mathurin, it's disappointing nonetheless. We're going to see many polarizing nights from him, including in important games, where he has equal chance of scoring 5pts or 25pts.

Needs to work on his body over the next few years. Probably needs a full offseason to get healthy again as well. Agree, totally fine with him being our third best player (in fact, that's probably more appropriate for the traditional NBA winning formula since he's our point guard) but that, unfortunately, doesn't work as well if he's getting paid a max contract in the modern NBA, especially in a small market.

How the hell could you be happy with a $50 million a year player being our third best player? Haliburton stinks!!
Being unable to close out a game in which you have a comfortable lead in the 4th Q = Pulling a Frank Vogel

I agree. He really needs to hit the weight room
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

Hopefully when Nemhard returns, Hali can rest his back for a couple weeks. If that truly is the issue. If it truly is, I'd rather he sit now and return with the others.

I wonder if this strategy ever worked in history. When a player has a specific injury and can't play that's one thing. But when a player has a chronic injury, does "resting" really solve the issue for good? Let me remind you - We've been saying Tyrese has been playing injured since the previous ASG. I don't buy into load management, rest the 80% guy so he can return 100%, etc. If a guy is injured and needs surgery or recovery time, then he should not play until the injury is healed. If he's not injured, then he should play. That's it.

I kind of hate it when he sucks for a 40 minutes then he makes a 3 and acts like he just finished scoring 70 points.

I mean he had 13 assists, 0 turnovers and hit back to back threes to help seal the game. Sorry he didn't also score 40 points.

Probably something to this (the back maybe?) but still pretty inexcusable for that contract:

It is what it is, he might be injured, he might have regressed, he may never be the same, I think he seems like a good guy though and i trust that if it's possible for him to get better, he will

I thought Haliburton would come out hot to try and prove why he made Team USA.

Maybe the whole "more physical" (i think this is all dependent on how refs are calling) play has something to do with it. Looks like he has a hard time getting by defenders right now

Sold all my Haliburton stock. Guy has been pretty mid since the injury and I just don't see him getting better than this. We are screwed for the foreseeable future. A Hali/Siakam duo is just not really anything to write home about. We are a play in team with this roster and with all the injuries I'd say we may see the lottery. Mathurin is the only fun thing about this team right now.
